• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Did you try jumpstarting before taking it to service? Could have been low battery.
I called Kia Service and they didn’t want me to jumpstart it. They wanted to see it as is. So I used roadside assistance and it went on it’s way.

This just happened to us today! We charged the battery and went straight to the Kia dealer. Bad Battery and they replaced it. I asked what could make a relatively new (year old) battery go bad and he said "sitting for long periods". He suggested starting it every day and letting it run for 5 minutes. You'd think with all the bells and whistles, sounds, lights and sophisticated electronics that it would give you a more straightforward message when it comes to LO Batt!

Using a battery charger (ie battery tender) can also be used if the car is sitting for long periods unused. 👍

2021 model and just had the same problem. Trying to start it, the vehicle clicks once, shows the on screen ‘system check’ acting like it’s started but the engine never turns over. Tried jumping it too to rule out dead battery, no luck. Waiting on the tow now.

Take a video, and take it to your dealer.
Yes I am experiencing this since today. My dealer wants me to bring in it for service. My telluride is 1 1/2 yrs old not understanding why this is happening now!

My car is doing it too. Won’t start, dealer said it never shows a start fail. 10 times in two weeks, has died twice on me then hard to start.
Have you filed a complaints through corp. Once you file a complaints they will contact you and contact your dealership.

My New 2020 Kia Telluride has not started 4 different times! I have had it into the dealer and they have checked the battery, which was good, and have run diagnositcs on the systems last week, but it happened again last night. I had to jump it again. Has anyone else had this problem?
It appears we are having a similar problem. We have been told we are not driving it enough to keep the battery charged, or the computer on our 2021 uses so much juice that drains the battery, even when we are not driving it. Makes no sense to me. Suggestions?

I had that issue , it was a bad battery , I disabled the child in the back seat motion detector. Have them check the rear air condition control.

I also had my battery replaced and car only had a little over 1,000 miles. I don’t think disabling things to keep the battery from going bad again should have to be done. The car should work as is and the battery should be sufficient to power all the electrical components. It probably will help if you do disable a few things. Why are you suggesting to have the rear air condition control? Just wondering..did the dealer perform any other things to see if anything was staying on causing the battery to drain?🤔

The reason why am asking is the error i received was the rear air c controls . The batter had bad battery cells

Oh okay makes sense. Everything is well now after the car was replaced with a new battery👍

I'm a little skeptical of many of these posts since most are from new members or accounts with odd naming conventions. Is it possible the forum is being trolled?

Mine has been doing the same thing. I purchased it in May 2019 and loved it until recently. I had to jump it 4 different times, then took it into the dealership. They tested the battery and said all was well and sent me on my way. It died 3 more times. I was able to start it the 3 time without a jump on the 12th attempt, so I went straight to the dealership and they kept the vehicle for 5 days. I just got a call saying that they were finally able to recreate the issue and changed the battery. I’m hopeful that I won’t have these issues again, but I hate the fact that I can’t rely on my vehicle that’s 8 months old.
What was the fix?

Yes, it happened to me 3 times this week. I have a 2020, Kia Telluride Model S, it said check ESC PRESS OK? Where is the OK button located? What is the ESC?

I'm having this issue now. Car sat for a over week without starting and we've has some cold weather here. (I don't know if this may contribute to the problem?) I'm trying to jumpstart it but not having any luck. Gonna let it sit connected to the good battery see if it'll hopefully start.

Google parasitic drain. Lots of new cars have this issue. I have friends whose Honda has this issue.
