• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Members that have installed the Yakima Ridgeline Roof Rack system, did you follow the instructions and mount the from rack 22" from the windshield/roof edge? This puts the front rack in the middle of the sunroof. And, there is ample room to mount it behind the sunroof. Is there a technical reason why the measurement is 22"?

Thanks,

No. I think the 22" is minimum. I installed the same system with the bar just at the back of the sunroof so you don't see it. I found the Yakima clamps are a fussy fit, but they do work. My Yakima system with kayak holders uses the round bars. I had it on my old Ford Explorer before I got the new Telly. Unfortunately the round bars create a lot of wind noise noticeable in the cabin which I didn't have with the Explorer. So I remove the Yakima system when not needed. New Yakima systems use aerodynamic bars.
