Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Just bought a 2021 Telluride EX with hitch package...does it come with all necessary pre-wiring to haul small trailer or airstream?

As I understand it - yes, if the camper doesn't have electric brakes. If you need electric brakes, the basic wiring is there and they give you an extra cable harness for wiring up a brake controller, but you would need to buy a brake controller and install it - but the 7-pin plug is there to accomodate the brake controller.

Sorry to keep rehashing the towing questions, so the 21 only difference is that it is just a different adapter and no brake system? I know they advertised this as an improvement over the 20 but I can go to Walmart and buy a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter for $15. Seems a bit unsafe to the less knowing that are going to tow and think its providing what they need judging from the initial post on this thread.

I dont have a hitch on my 2021 telluride s, however I plan to install one. In the specs on the lower lx model it says 7pin trailer wiring harness as a standard item. The S model has everything the lx has plus more. Does it mean the vehicle is prewired so it is capable even those without a hitch?
The 2021 with factory tow package has a 7-pin connector in the back.. if your towing a large trailer with electric brakes you'll need a brake controller added. The 7-pin harness in the back doesn't do much move than a 4-pin will do by itself...
The 2021 has a molex connector underneath the dash that will allow relatively easy connection to a brake controller that will be hard wired to the 7-pin in the back. 2020 models do not have this extra wiring from under dash to rear trailer harness

Ah ha! That's good to know. I have a 2021 and may eventually want to put a brake controller in (depending on what Camper Trailer we end up getting). It's good to know there is pre-wiring there to make the task easier.
