If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Telluride Quirks

After having ours for a few months we have had several of the issues discussed above, along with a few others.

Most frustrating is the unpredictable rear AC. When synced, the rear AC stays active if I come back to my car in a short amount of time. If it’s been a while, it turns off (very frustrating). I just want it to retain the previous setting. Getting the rear AC screen to load (among the normal GPS disclaimer and backup camera if you’re trying to get going quickly) takes forever and isn’t something I want to interact with. I just want the AC to stay the way I left it.

Similarly, the idle shut-off feature is annoying with respect to the AC. If it’s hot and I have it set to auto, I don’t want it cutting the fan speed down because I’m stopped. I haven’t figured out a good way to disable this without pushing the button on every drive. With the Texas heat I usually just want the AC blasting to reach the desired temperature.

I can’t find a good place to store the factory cargo cover when the third row seat is up. It’s just a smidge too wide to fit in the back. Would love to hear any thoughts from someone who manages to store it in their car! Otherwise it just sits in my house and goes unused.
Regarding the cargo cover, remove the lid where the jack is stored, there is a plastic window on the right side of the jack storage compartment ,push that down, slide the cargo cover in on the right side first then in the left WaLa stored away .Kia thinks of everything

How did you turn this off? That annoys me too.

I get annoyed by the seatbelt chime which seems to never end...no matter what speed you’re going
Its very simple, under the front seats there is a black wire that comes out of where the belt buckles and it connects to the white clip, just disconnect the wire from it and the seatbelt sign and the annoying chime are gone! i did this today and test drove it.. result no chime no seatbelt sign...

Using a booster seat in the second row, my son discovered that the buckle is recessed pretty deep into the seat cushion. He has to put the buckle flush with the base of his seat and slide it in with his finger tips to get it to buckle. Not very user friendly.

Auto start/stop (ASS) cannot be permanently turned off because of MPG ratings. MPG is measured using the ASS feature, so a permanent off button would negate the tests.

I have a 2020Telluride EX it has that auto start stop feature when I would stop at a lite the engine would shut off , and when I let my foot off the brake , the engine would start. Well about after 2 months of having the vehicle , it stopped working, it would not stop and restart when I stopped at a lite or of when that feature was supposed to work. I took it to the dealer and was told that that feature did not work when it was cold out I said ok , then when it got warmer outside 82 degrees that feature still did not work , I took it to the dealer left it there all day and was told it needed a new module that control the battery system well they installed it and it worked for about 5 minutes now it does not work again. Anuone else have this problem or have any suggestions?

My biggest quirk is having to wait to get mine, LOL . I just can't wait.

You have a bad battery that is not holding voltage.

Had my battery replaced and solved this.

ive also noticed my ISG stop working the past two weeks. When the previous 3 months I’ve owned the car, it worked no problem. Just took it out for an hour long drive with no climate control, which should have been enough time for the car and battery to be warmed up, but it still didn’t activate at all.

Were you able to test the amperage and voltage with a battery meter to see what was wrong before replacing the battery? I wonder if it is related at all to the reduced frequency of driving working from home the past month. We do still drive at least twice a week.

I would think as long as the battery isn’t completely discharged, it should still activate after an hour of driving with climate control off.

Yes, I checked the voltage a few hours after charging and voltage was way down...

Note that I tested as both AGM types with equal results for those paying close attention. The Kia battery is not the spiral type as far as I know, but that is what I had the type set to in this particular photo.

Note the 0 CCA. Got up to about 375 on a full charge or half of the rating for the battery.

Ok, I love my SXP and I have searched internet and this forum to solve this one thing that I hate. It is so annoying.
Can anyone tell me how to turn off nav turn chime? I want to have prompts and directions enabled. However, on every step in guidance, for example after a turn, there is a chime. I hate it. Any way to get rid of it?

don’t think the beep is an adjustable setting separate from the voice guidance One thing you could try is to press the voice command button on the steering wheel after the voice prompt. It’s supposed to mute the guidance prompts on the fly.

So twice I’ve had an issue with my windows.

One day while driving I lowered the front passenger window. When I tried to close it it would pop back open a few inches, I guess thinking there was something stuck (but there wasn’t). It kept doing that until I turned the car off and on.

Another time I tried to lower the driver side window and it stopped after a few inches (so it was mostly closed). The window then didn’t move at all. Even restarting the car didn’t work. I went to drive after about an hour and it was fine.

Another thing that’s quirky is my phone and CarPlay. Maybe 30% of the time I have to unplug and replug the phone for it to work. I’ve tried 3 different cables and now I’m on a brand new cable and it happens less frequently but still happens.

I only have about 3300 miles on the car.

I think the Sofino leatherette in my 2021-S is a little sticky. It's a little hard to slide in and out. I'm hoping that improves over time.

I was able to trace the black wire where it connects to white clip but the difficult part is knowing how to disconnect the interlocking clips as it is hard see under the seat. Any hints on disconnecting the clips would be greatly appreciated.

Disabling the passenger seatbelt detection wiring will effectively disable their airbag from deploying in an accident. FYI.

Are you sure? Disconnecting the wire appears to force the logic to permanently detect "seatbelt is on", hence no seatbelt warning.

No seatbelt warning indicates the airbag "seatbelt on" permissive is satisfied at all times.

This leaves only the "seat occupied" permissive (detection of enough weight on the seat) to control airbag firing.

Easy enough to test, someone with a disconnected wire can let us know; if a passenger is present and their seatbelt off is the passenger air bag light illuminated or extinguished.

I assume it will be extinguished indicating the passenger air bag is active because both permissive signals (seatbelt on & seat occupied) are satisfied.

I also expect getting hit with an airbag without wearing a seatbelt for restraint would be a very painful and injurious experience...

Bingo! Airbags are designed with seat belt use required. Also check with your states insurance regulations to see if your auto insurance has to cover you injuries if you disable safety systems. Failing to aplly the seatbelt is a step below consciously disabling required safety systems.
