• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... It all depends on how I'm sitting in the Driver's seat but sometimes I hear a metal on metal noise, maybe a spring or something hitting something.

It's not regular, and if I shift around to center myself better in the middle of the seat, it's not there, but if I put weight on the left side seat bottom to extend my left leg to use the "dead-pedal/left foot foot-rest", I notice it sometimes. It all depends on my pressure on varying leg pressure and weight on the seat bottom.

For the first few weeks, I drove with my left knee bent, left foot on the comfortable OEM all-weather floor mat, almost zero use of the "dead"pedal and didn't notice the sound.

Anyone else notice this when sitting certain ways or shifting around in the seat to be a bit off-center?

It happened to me as well. What we determined was the plastic cover with the seat position controls overlap the plastic below it with tight tolerances. If you raise the seat up a little it may go away. I also tugged on the plastic with the seat controls with a little force in the middle and it popped out just enough and now I don’t hear it anymore

you mean I have to choose between my perfect driving seat position w/ the occasional snapping, tap/click staccato sound or raise the seat a bit to clear the plastic and get used to sitting in that position? 😂

Thank you for the diagnosis and simple remedy. I’ll give it a try when I walk back to the Telly later 😍

Sorry but yep. I hope it works for you. Mine would make that noise every time I was in a turn to the right as my weight was put on the left side of the seat.

Thank you so much. Made a small adjustment, and I'm sitting slightly higher now with zero clicking noise. Problem solved! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge of the problem and the simple solution! :)
