Welcome, Mike from CT! Hope you have a short wait. What options did you get?
I went with the following:
- AWD SX in Gravity
- Gray Leather interior
- Wheel locks, mats, mud guards
I did not go with the nightfall package as I tend to like the brushed alum accents and black wheels on the stock SX for the GG. I also did not go with the Prestige as I wanted to save a few bucks, and didn’t think the nappa, heads up display, and other items were necessary. I moved up already from my initial EXP choice to get a few more options.
I have another week or so until it’s actually ordered so I can always change options up until then.
Do you have any insights on options now having your Telly that you can share?
Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! What will the Telluride be replacing for you? I'm glad you found us.Hi all, just joined the forum today and looking forward to getting my Telly soon and being apart of the club. I recently placed a deposit on a 2021 SX in GG.
Thanks for the insight; extremely helpful as I fine tune my order. Be well!I did go with the Nightfall, but would not have been unhappy with a non-nightfall - I think they both look great. I too opted not to get the Prestige Package, but my main reason was that I really liked the Butterscotch leather and that wasn't available with the "P". Beyond that, the things that I gave up by not having the "P" were things that, like you, were not that important (I have a Corvette with HUD and, maybe it's just my age, but I could live without it). Not knocking the "P" package, but it just wasn't worth it to me and I really wanted that Butterscotch leather.
As it turns out, I too moved up from an EXP. In fact, I had an EXP ordered and made a $1000 deposit, but I made the decision to change to the SX earliy enough in the process that it wasn't an issue.
One thing you ordered from the factory that I wish I had done were the mud guards. I didn't order those originally but ended up getting them after the fact and installing them myself. If I had it to do over I would have ordered them in the first place. You're smart to have ordered wheel locks too.
Two options I got that I really do like: The cargo net and the cargo cover. I too ordered the carpeted floor mats, but the dealer threw in a set of all weather mats at no charge and those are what I use. I doubt I'll ever use the carpeted mats (or rarely). The Kia OEM all weather mats are pretty darned good. I also ordered the tow package because I know we are planning to buy a small camper an see America! Some of the other options seem a bit frivolous to me (not knocking anyone who got these). For example, the lighted scuff plates and the multi-colored interior lighting kit don't seem like a good use of money. The upper cross bars are something I could see getting if I knew I was going use them (right now I don't see that need).
Thanks for the note! I will be replacing my 2012 Honda Accord which I enjoyed very much over the years; however it is time to get back into an SUV. I look forward to not taking 2 trips back and forth to the hardware store any longer.Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! Great post! If I had only seen this before I ordered! I too added the carpeted floor mats as well as cross bars, interior lights, and cargo cover. Thinking now all weather mats, mud guards, an wheel locks. We will use the cross bars. Since found out that Interior lights package is quite bright and cannot be dimmed!? Found OEM mudguards on ebay, was the install a challenge? Will be picking up the Telly in 10 days! By the way, big fan of Fawlty Towers! Too funny!I did go with the Nightfall, but would not have been unhappy with a non-nightfall - I think they both look great. No, install is a piece of cake. No drilling - just body molding that uses existing holes.Found OEM mudguards on ebay, was the install a challenge?
