However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I am expecting my 2021 Telluride NF on Feb 15! A little bit of apprehension since I couldn’t see the colors in person - I finally defaulted to my standard colors and ordered Gravity Gray NF with black interior. I have two questions and I’m not sure where I should ask them ... appreciate any help! One is about taking the car on a 14 hour highway drive immediately upon delivery from dealership and the other is any YouTube videos going over detailed ‘How to set up your car features’ so I can learn in advance in case it is okay to go straight on a long trip!
This seems like a wonderful group of people and your personal Telluride photos where what helped me pick my color choice! My previous cars for last many long years were two Suburbans and my present Lexus RX350. I wanted a car that was a little higher up but didn’t require a step-up, more cargo space, a spacious third row and most importantly all the newer safety features.
Thanks, and Happy Trails everyone!

Gravity Gray for the win 👍 If you’re concerned about the travel time and engine wear; vary your speed and check your oil level before you leave. I would also check the tire air pressure. Sometimes dealers don’t check them and some folks have found upwards to 45 psi in their tires. It will make the ride a bit rough. Other than that; enjoy the ride. For YouTube; I would search Telluride technology or something like that. There should be plenty. Oh and get some pics uploaded when you can

Thanks for the advice - I’ll do it :). I see you have WeatherTech liners ... happy with them? I’ll be dragging in everything from sand to gravel and a bit of mud but want a liner that’s easy to out in and out for washing off.

Liners......you’ll get a ton of opinions on this forum about that. Me; WeatherTech all the way. Have had them in the past 3 cars and won’t switch. I like them, they hold everything and they’re easy to clean and maintain. There are a lot of liner options out there. There is a thread on here that lists all the ones available and everyone’s opinions. I have black liners with a black interior

+1 for weather tech liners.

Thread mentioned above:

You should be fine driving long distance as long as you follow the break-in recommendations for the first 600 miles.

The features and functions guide is a good place to start to get to know the car.

Also multiple threads here.

Great info - I wouldn’t have thought of the fire/burn hazard from hot tailpipes. I won’t forget! I am halfway through the Kia YouTube tutorials and checking the liners. Have a great week -

Just did the same thing but a longer drive (23 hours). Don't use the cruise control for the first 5-600 miles and you should be fine.

My .02 cents worth. Wife and I bought our car from out of state. We left the dealership at about 4:30 pm and started our 700 mile drive home. Arrived home the next evening at about 5:00 pm. We had no problems at all with the operation of the car. Don’t know if that is good or bad for the car.
As far as setting up your features, I didn’t mess with mine too much. I would think that the car electronics come with a pretty much safe default mode that you can use initially.

As you can see, I did not view any set up videos. So, i guess my post isn’t much help😔. Sorry. Not much to do at the moment (too much time on my hands) because we are in the middle of a big snow storm (much needed snow). Good luck with your new purchase. I think you will be very happy.

Thx TMiles - I went all out on the purchase and feel like I should look for the best economical value in liners ... but that might be doing myself a disservice at this point 😂

Thx ksyrah- that’s a perfect tip so I won’t get carried away and forget to vary my speed!

Thanks, gimpy- your post actually was helpful and took some of the ‘drive’ out of feeling like I had to know everything before I hopped in. I’ll be doing the trip solo and haven’t ever had a lot of these safety features that I’m so looking forward to - I didn’t want to be messing around with settings while on the road. Enjoy your much needed snow and may you not have to shovel too much!

I’ve had Weather Tech liners in my last 3 vehicles and LOVE them. They fit nice and snug and are easily removed & hosed off!

Thanks for that amazing recommendation- you’ve gotta love them to buy them three times!

I bought my car in Plano Texas and drove 10 hours back home to New Mexico. I just varied my speed (and I did check the tire pressure which was too high). It was the easiest 10 hour drive I've ever done. I was sad when I got home!

Thx BF - I came within a hair of ordering the exact car you have (minus tow package). Enjoy her for me! I will for sure check tire pressure and oil level, too.

I ordered mine 12/09/20 and was told to expect end of February, possibly March. Updated three weeks about to “middle February” and last week to 2/15. I hope yours comes earlier than expected too! Wish I had gotten the gray interior but the salesman looked at me wearing blue jeans and said if I wear them a lot they would discolor the lighter interior...??? He no longer works there and I wonder if he even knew what he was talking about!!!

My wife’s Seltos has Grey interior, and the other day I wore some dark denim jeans. There was some dye transfer, we removed it right away using a magic eraser.

Thanks for that. I *really* wanted the lighter interior since the exterior is so dark and all my cars for last ... ever ... have been dark inside and out. However I am not very good at keeping up with my interior so I will be happier with less worry and work. I bet her car looks great!

Hmmm, interesting - never thought about that. Well thanks for the update:) Yesterday was 2 weeks, so maybe I'll get an update next Saturday for a sooner delivery date. I'll look for your pictures soon!!
