If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Curious if rationale to claybar new Telluride before coating with Wolfgang Concurs

If it’s not sunny, I’m going to wash my baby again today with the WeatherTech TechCare kit products, possibly clay and wax too if I have the time 😍

Will It Hurt My Wax or Ceramic Coatings?

Nope! Salts Gone will simply remove the soluble chlorides from the surface

It's important to clean the surface before applying any kind of coating. Clay will remove the grime from the microscopic imperfections in the paint surface. You always want to do that before any paint correction. Yes, you should also perform paint correction on a car just from the factory. There can be minor surface imperfections or worse even on a brand new vehicle. My Telluride was pretty good but not perfect. At least we didn't buy a Tesla 🤣

There are a few I'm familiar with that should work. The best one that the professionals use is the 3M Perfect-It Cleaner Clay. A couple of alternatives are the Professional Meguiar’s C2000 Mirror Glaze Detailing Clay or the one I've used the most, Griots Paint Cleaning Clay. Make sure you use a good clay lubricant.

WARNING: Clay will remove ceramic coating.

Well the Telluride was dropped off today (finally) to get a 1-step correction, full frontal PPF and Feynlab 3-year ceramic coating on all exterior and wheels and calipers. I’m very excited. Shop is super reputable and I can’t wait for the results. Ready to pick up Thursday afternoon

In the meantime, I’ve added the following to now be Telluride-specific cleaning products:

- Feynlab PureWash pH neutral wash soap
- Feynlab Glass Cleaner
- Feynlab Leather Treatment & Conditioner
- Feynlab Black Velvet Tire Dressing (supposedly lasts several months between applications and the shop will already apply it so won’t need to use tire dressing much)
- Feynlab All Purpose Dressing. This has to be AMAZING to beat the 303 Aerospace Protectant which is still the best interior trim protectant and plastics restorer I’ve tried.
- (2) Feynlab Korean Microfiber Wash Mitts

I also stepped up the filtration on my front hose spigot (whole-home is on the back burner currently) to be a 3-canister carbon filter system before the pressure washer.

Since we all brag and show off our setups here, does anyone have any really nice garage flooring? I’m not talking a standard joke depot epoxy floor kit, I wanna see some high end epoxy, polished concrete, or some floor tile setups like SwissTrax or RaceDeck. I’m about thiiiiis close 🤏🏻 to pulling the trigger on a SwissTrax setup for my garage, as my epoxy has all but lifted and flaked apart (previous owners did the worst prep job you can imagine and it shows). High end epoxy job and SwissTrax are about the same cost, and tbh I’ve wanted a modular floor kit for years now. Anyone have a setup they wanna show off?

Been like 8 months since I sold my Z06 and thus 8 months since I’ve had the luxury of washing a coated car lol. I’m excited for the sheeting and beading again!

Sounds like an awesome game plan!!

There is a thread here of people showing off their rides in the garages. Some pretty cool looking garage floors on that thread.

I unfortunately spent too much money on the walls of my garage and can't take care of the floors!

Got it back from the shop with the correction, PPF, and coating done. The urge to wash is strong, but cure process is 4 days. Looks awesome. The few blemishes that were in the paint are gone and she’s lookin real slick. Lost some daylight for some good pics, that would show the actual up close correction improvement. PPF still has a few bubbles and moisture spots that will come out probably by tomorrow, not worried on that. Overall pretty happy. Wash impressions with all the new Feynlab stuff probably Sunday or Monday.

Also pretty sure I’m ordering the SwissTrax next week... just need to finalize the color patterns. Went deep down the rabbit hole this past weekend on YouTube and I can’t shake the urge lol.

I just got my Black Cherry Nightfall this past weekend. I am strongly looking at PPF...but since it is new do I need the correction. My detailer said no.

Looks slick!! How long did it stay at the shop before you picked it up? You can start counting days from the application day if it sat there curing a bit.

The answer is 100% yes. The PPF is locking in the swirls and paint imperfections. Find another detailer.

They coated late Wednesday picked up yesterday, but I’ve had some weird issues where I couldn’t ever get posts to load (think the site had issues idk?). Either way, I’m right at 48 hrs into curing now, so Sunday evening but probably Monday after work I’ll spray it down.

You should definitely be fine by then. The first wash is fun man.
