• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Canadian 2021 Telluride

When I asked for the 7pin when I ordered it in August, and came in September, although the dealer could not do it, they sent it to a 3rd party and got it done for me.

It took a while (I took the vehicle while I waited for the appointment), and in the end turned out to be the cheapest option I could have gotten.

All warranty still valid.

Looking back, I wish I never paid for a brake controller and got the Bluetooth one, but the shop was cool and never screwed it in before talking to me, so we agreed to just put wires under the dash, and I can just plug it in as needed.
Did they send you to the third party or were you waiting for them to get the car to the third party and do it there?

Do you know what harness they used? An aftermarket one?

The advantage of a Bluetooth one would be that its receptor doesn't need to be physically accessible and therefore no screwing? Yeah that sounds better but I cringe to think about somehow ended up without control of my brake because something went wrong with my phone.

1) They were going to take it and did before I picked it up, but they were missing part, I waited 2 weeks for the part and the appointment. Worked out for me, as it was across the street from my work.

2) They had to use an aftermarket one, but before they even got me in, they told me they were going to use the best for me, (thus the wait) because they saw it only had 20 kms.

3) The good Bluetooth one will not mess up, it will keep the last settings you enter even if it screws up as a safety precaution. It's pretty slick.

Does the 2021 model come with a 7-pin wiring harness?
Apparently in the US yes. Here in Canada my dealer doesn't know anything about it, mention a 4-pin only.

From what I read about it, don't you need to be able to override settings and manually apply the brakes sometimes? In that case does it mean I have to have the app always in the foreground on my phone?

Hi all,

Looking at a few different quotes I received and one says CCP - Customer Care Package $985... What is this?

Looking at my quote it looks like he gave me a 2000 discount off of MSRP but then tried to find ways to build the money back into the quote. $500 admin fees? CCP $985

yes dealers are cunning. Open the link kia.ca, choose your trim and there will be a price that you should be guided by.

Yes he is coming in at the same price at kia.ca.... The Orangeville shop has been the best so far from a price standpoint and timely emails. I want him to have the best price because he deserves my money after all the emails.

By the way, according to the experience of buying new cars, dealers sometimes indicate numbers in the bill of sale differently (for example: once a dealer indicated administrative 800 and reduced the price of a car by this amount), it should make no difference to you. Look at the total.

If you get a APA.ca membership ($80) they’ll give you a quote that goes almost $1000 cheaper than the price on kia.ca and a dealership that agrees to that price, no negotiation. I use this to get the price I wanted from my dealership.

I’m in BC and ordered a gg-limited nightsky from a dealership in Kelowna. They have 2 separate fees they add like driver care package($699) and administrative value ($599) that were added which driver care is prob close to customer care just worded diff. If you go to your dealer website they should explain what the packages on there somewhere. I got one package reduced and one taken away as this dealership is 10 hrs from me so it’s no use having shuttle service/courtesy car or free washes as I won’t be driving there for warranty work.

Lots of those fees are just straight BS things the dealer tacks on to pad the bill.

Is Ryan at Orangeville adding those items on? Since I didn't have any issues when we did pricing with him a few months back. Gave him the business as he was the most straight forward dealer and gave the best price from the start.

Compare OTR between dealers to see who is giving you the best real deal.

Ryan didn't add any of these fees but I was only dealing with On the Road pricing with him.

He was the most straight-forward dealer of the 6 that I contacted.
One dealer tried to steal the deal that I made with Ryan by offering a better price.
I got in touch with Ryan to let him know and he beat the lower price.

Great guy! Now, if only my Telluride would show up... ordered a SX-L on Nov. 9th and still waiting.

Gord, just confirm, you factory ordered in December, and your vehicle was shipped to Calgary, then on a truck to Edmonton?

That is super bizarre, because all new vehicles are shipped to Edmonton, and distributed from there, why would it come to Calgary, then back to Edmonton?
Good morning.
It finally warmed up enough in Alberta so we wanted to pick up our new SX in white with espresso yesterday. We didn’t want to do it at -40*!
So far ( 100 km ) it is as we had hoped and expected.....and then some. Driving was a great experience, once I learned to relax and stop wrestling with the lane assist....LOL.

I asked the manager about KIA deliveries to Alberta and he assured me they all come through Calgary via CP Rail and then distributed with transport trucks to the various provincial dealers.

One final note, we are retirees and I am frugal ( family maintains I’m just cheap ) and quite sceptical of many things, including promises, politicians and car sales people. But this purchase was seamless and at a very professional and courteous level that I had not experienced before!
A major shout out to Sherwood Kia and especially to Kiatt and Amin, thanks.
Gord

You mentioned in this thread that your delay seems to be due to the Napa leather availability. Did your dealer not tell you right away that they just don't have it? Mine told me that before they were actually able to put in the request, in one system it showed that they didn't have it anymore. But they told me they could call me at some point to tell me "yeah, sorry, they really ran out of it". Did you go through any of that?

No, Ryan did not mention that they didn't have it, just that it would take time. Mid-January, he said it's coming soon, whatever that meant.

This has changed since September then, because myself and a few others waited to get it from Edmonton.

Good to know I guess.

Just got the e-mail today letting me know that my SX-L has arrived at the dealership. Going to pick up on Feb. 27th.

What level of extended warranty are people buying (3, 4 or 5-star)?

Put my deposit on a SX Limited on Dark Moss with grey interior last Monday. Dealer manager initially said they are out of grey Nappa but he said he was able to put the order in. I seem to be in for a long wait... Ontarians who got their Tellurides recently, how long did you wait for?
We waited 3 weeks less 1 day.

Was it recently??? Damn, that would be so cool.

Edit: just saw your history, it was January. That’s great. I think mine will take longer especially because of the Napa leather.
