• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... In another forum, someone posted this response from Kia Support after expressing dissatisfaction about the 14.10 release:

The software version 200923 is indeed the latest version at the moment with the new look and feel of global Kia Telematics system, replacing the 3-section menu in the older versions. The upcoming software update will surely contain several enhancement in system performance. Based on the current information, the color scheme will stay the same in this update, but the full screen with Android Auto and Apple Car Play will be applied. We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the new system design and color. Your feedback has been forwarded to our R&D colleagues and we definitely will take this into consideration.

I'm an Android Auto user, and I'm curious if "the full screen with Android Auto" will finally provide widescreen support (which might also enable the new split screen feature of AA)? Not sure how how else this might be interpreted. On the other hand, doesn't Carplay already support it?

Note: I hate the new purple interface, and I'm disappointed to see that Kia is apparently committed to it. It's laughably bad. But AA widescreen support might make me consider upgrading. I'd still need to explain to friends how the 2021 Telly is really amazing despite its 1990's purple infotainment system, but....

That is a confusing response, because CarPlay has taken up the full screen on the Telluride from day one. It was only with the April 2020 update that they added the option to split screen CarPlay with 1/3 Kia maps/weather/etc. But, perhaps they worded it that way because I think the default on new cars is to have CarPlay be in split screen, and of course no one knows how to venture through the settings so they think CarPlay can’t go full screen. This is one of the most common questions I answer on here and on Facebook, both for the Telluride and Palisade.

I still wouldn’t assume this means they’re going to update their interface with Android Auto until it actually happens. If/when it does, it will be a great thing, but I would rather be surprised and delighted than continue to be disappointed with each update.

Yeah, it's a bit of wishful thinking on my part, and I agree that it's a confusing response exactly for the reasons you stated. I suppose we can keep hoping (for another month or so).
