  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi, I found this forum while researching the Telluride, and have been visiting while waiting to hear from our dealership. We put down a deposit this past Saturday, but it's all very vague about exact timing. I kept it kind of (maybe?) open, with a AWD SX, and pretty open on colors, so hoping that works to getting me in one sooner! Until then, just living vicariously through everyone else.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! What will the Telluride be replacing for you? I'm glad you found us. :)

When you put a deposit down to order the car, if you didn’t already choose a color you likely didn’t place a real order.

Unless you are trying to say your dealer will let you know if they receive another SX (sooner) on their lot with no owner as part of an allocation, and give you the option to buy it instead.

I currently have a 2017 Kia Sedona. I was torn, but the kids are getting older, I'm not driving the school car pool any more....

Tellthemride - yes, sorry. Going with whenever the dealer receives their allocations. Just gave them the things I definitely wanted (SX, AWD), and have a spot on a the waiting list, when they next get their "for the lot" delivery.

If you don't actually have a sales number you kinda just placed a 'reservation' for a call when an SX AWD comes in that isn't already ordered. May make your wait a bit longer.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder which was the way to go, but figured that might be less than the 4-6 months for building one. This is the 1st time I've dealt with trying to get a vehicle that wasn't available on a lot. Obviously, not familiar with all the ins & outs....

guess I just got excited...

If the color doesn’t matter, I don’t think you will have a 3 month wait, and you may get a cancellation since the color does not matter. But you can still negotiate the price now.
