• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I had weirdest experience with my Kia Telluride EX 2021 and wonder if anyone else had any similar experience.

Bought the following replacement LED bulbs for headlight and plate light. I loved them but after a few days my driver door lock stopped working electronically. Key fob lock button, door lock button on the door stopped locking the driver door (driver door only), and I had to start using mechanically lock the driver door. At that time, these lights were the only changes so I replace them back with original bulbs. Then a few days later, driver door lock started responding again electronically.

At this time, I am not sure if I want to put these LED replacements back in. Does anyone else had any similar experience? What other replacement LED bulbs did you get instead?

weird but true It happens I have replace most of the bulbs to LED except the front turn signals due a glitch (don't remember what was the issue)

Make changes one by one until you find the cause or a problem

When i pulled these up they show they do not fit the Telluride. It may be that they are effecting your electical system, diff draw or a short. I agree try each one individually, but if taking days for issue to arise may not learn anything. Similar problem with my Durango and LED headlight bulbs- put them in and then my driving lights and turn signals didn't work. Put origs back, priblem solved. Took 3 tries with 3 diff bulbs to get it right.

I have the Lasfit bulbs with zero issues and that is a very interesting issue. I would put the bulbs back in to see if the fault takes place again. I find it odd it takes days for the issue to arise and clear. Leads me to believe there is something else causing issue with the drivers door lock.
Any issues with the door in the past?
Any repairs to the drivers door?
How many miles?

Curious to hear more.

Thank you all,

I got those item numbers originally from here from lasfit. I assume they are the same product based on the item numbers. Maybe my assumption was wrong.

andybob@ did you get yours directly from lasfit? Also, I may consider testing with 1 bulb at a time but at the moment, I am kinds of not comfortable putting these back in :-). For now, I will contact lasfit to ask this question too.

I purchased directly from Lasfit. Bought the headlight/plate lamp/reverse light combo they sell for the Telluride. Interested to hear what Lasfit has to say.

Heard back from Lasfit and they said they are the same bulbs. They suggested the same troubleshooting - test a pair of bulbs at a time and also switch left and right see if it is a specific bulb. A bit hesitant to put them back but if I get to do it, will post updates. Thanks again, everyone.

The vehicle may be setting a code that isn’t triggering the CEL. Do you have a way to check codes with a diagnostic scan tool?

After rainy season, door lock started working again flawlessly so I put Lasfit bulbs back in. The lock has been working ok for some time now. Now I wonder it was related to humidity or staying water somewhere. Will give it some more time and provide updates here.

Final update on this thread for others. Lasfit LED bulbs and door lock have been working flawlessly until now so problem may have been something else.

Thanks everyone for your input!

I did the LED head light bulbs and license plates on my EX. It’s been like that for the past 4 months …maybe longer without an issue. I am certain that your lock started to have an issue not related to you switching out the light bulbs. I know because my Mother’s 2021 Kia Sorento started to have the same issue with her main driving side door lock. Took it into the Kia Dealer and they had to order the part. Took then 2 months to get the part and it just finally got replaced. It’s been working perfect ever since. Her car has less that 1,500 by the way. So you can see where some parts just come out defective. 1634433115905.png
