Order to delivery time

Hi everyone! I’m new here too but following this thread as I not so patiently wait for my order. Ordered EX-P Glacial White Pearl with black in Norwood, MA on 2/27 and was told 3 months at the latest. I’m now thinking that was very unrealistic given everyone else’s timeframes.

That’s where I test drove and decided on a Telluride. Did you work with Jason? He was very knowledgeable and personable, we just didn’t like the markup the dealership had. Maybe that markup will get you your vehicle faster. Placed our order the same day so we can compare our journeys.

Nope, it depends on the dealer's allotment and their waiting list. You may be fine. I just talked to my dealer on another matter and they told me they ordered 3 SXs on 2/26 and have already been assigned a VIN and are expected to arrive next week.

Thank you, that’s encouraging! I’m trying to be realistic about the timeframe but also hoping it may come in sooner rather than later. I’m so envious of all the Tellurides I’ve been seeing on the road but know it will be worth the wait to get exactly what I wanted.

Hi, congratulations! It will be great to be able to compare notes with someone who has the same order date. I went to that dealer initially because they seemed to have a better stock than some other local dealers. I later learned that at least this Kia dealer’s website displays customers’ orders (that are spoken for) so it can be confusing seeing what is actually available. Unfortunately the cars on the lot that were the right model/package weren’t color combos I loved and decided to suck it up and order what I really wanted.

I worked with Rodney and manager Dan, who were both very helpful that day. I haven’t heard much from them since then but I don’t think they have any information to report right now.

Mine will be about 8-10 weeks from the time I ordered to delivery. It truly all depends on the dealer you are working with, their allotment and what you order.

My order was picked up over a week ago and I've been checking FailCat every day...today I saw a new VIN for my dealership in the right color/configuration and I got all excited...but then I saw that it had the "interior lighting" add-on, which I did not get. So not my car. What a let down.

Salesman provided initial ETA of March 28th back on 1/29/21. I called yesterday to see if I have a VIN yet because I haven't seen my car on FailCat. He said my ETA has been pushed back to April 5th and they don't get VINs until 10 days before the car arrives at the dealership. Based on what I'm reading here, that doesn't seem to be true. Anyone have any insight on this?

He said my ETA has been pushed back to April 5th and they don't get VINs until 10 days before the car arrives at the dealership. Based on what I'm reading here, that doesn't seem to be true. Hi ZeonBelly, it's really tough to estimate the time from order to delivery because there are many variables that come into play such as your dealers allowance, where you are in the line of other orders they have. Many other factors such as the trim and color combinations that might be run at different times in assembly or due to ultra tight supplies like we are seeing on semi conductors. Once the car is built than there is the scheduling of delivery which might need to wait for more vehicles to be moved with on the same transporter. I ordered my SXP back on 1/4 and have an ETA of 4/20 currently, roughly 3.5 months but there are folks getting delivery in 6 weeks while others getting theirs 6 months later. This points back to what I was talking about with the many variables.

As far as the dealer telling you they don't know the VIN till 10 days before, well I don't think they are lying I just think they don't know as much as the members of this Forum do who are all things Telluride. My dealer was shocked when I gave them my VIN #, they didn't know about Failcat or the forum for that matter so it's not surprising to hear that your dealer didn't know.

I know it's not easy waiting months for your baby but I take solace from the many members on the forum who have indicated the reward is very well worth the wait. Isn't that right Forum members who have gotten their Telly's?

I ordered mine earlier this month from Luther as well! Same config and options as yours! Just wish the dealership communication was clearer ... I gave my deposit and was told that I should be in the March batch of orders they place, but don't have a date or confirmation if that has happened.

Luther gave me a one-page form showing the order was placed, at the time the deposit was made. They did not commit to anything in regards to the actual production or delivery time line. They did tell me that the orders are averaging 4-8 months, which it appears it will be at around the 4month time frame for my order. The dealer really does not have much to communicate until they get word that the order has started production - and that also depends on also how many orders are in front of yours. You may end up with a 2022.

Thanks! My patience is zero as well. I asked my sales guy about any paperwork at the time of the deposit and he said they don't really provide anything, so all I have is a receipt from them for the $500 credit card charge. Felt kind of weird that they didn't provide any type of paperwork, but maybe I'm being over-sensitive about it. They quoted a similar timeframe and told me they would contact me if they got one in the meantime with similar specs to see if I was interested. I guess I would just like to know if they were able to to place mine as part of their March order; once I know it's in the system, then I can back off.
