• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Installed Proximity Door Lock/Unlock Module

I'm in. Just got my Telly, saw the post about the lack of this feature. Good timing, was going to buy this module either way.

I recently had the proximity sensor installed and wanted to share my experience and verify if other have the same. It works well so far. Unlocks when approaching (as soon as the mirrors fold out) and locks as I walk away. I've noticed the locking feature does not arm the vehicle alarm, just locks the doors. I can unlock and open a door (if the window is down/reaching in to unlock) and no alarm, as opposed to locking with the FOB, doing the same will set off the alarm. The unlock feature of the proximity module does however disarm the alarm. If I locked the vehicle with the key FOB and walk up to it, it unlocks the doors and the alarm does not go off. It does not beep twice like when unlocking with the key FOB however the alarm is disarmed. Not a big deal for me, but keep in mind that your alarm appears to not set when locked with the proximity. I'll just remember to lock with the FOB overnight or when I want to make sure the alarm is active. Anyone with the Proximity sensor able to test theirs and verify they are having the same experience, or is it just my install?

That’s good info to know

I didn't think about this but it makes sense. I am guessing that module is emulating the internal lock press instead of outside button or remote press(which this module would not be able to emulate at all). I never needed the factory alarm feature but if someone needs it, please take note and decide.

Earlier post stated that the doors will lock with fob inside? How do they lock if the fob is still 'in proximity' to the vehicle? I thought it worked with the mirrors but they only fold if you walk away. Thanks just curious.

Ignition off -> Driver door open/close will trigger 10 seconds timer. It will lock the door with or without the fob inside.

Here is the rough translated seller notes:

I just tested this and the car did not lock with the FOB in it when I walked away.

That's good to know. I've never tested it. I guess the seller page is general guide and not specific to a vehicle. YMMV I guess.

I will contact them tomorrow to find out what kind of a discount for 8 units.

If possible, ask if they can break down the discounts based upon order numbers. We can always post on the FB Telluride group pages if we can get a significantly better price with a few more people.

kramerica72,
That is exactly what I asked ;) about the discounts.

That would be great if you would post on FB Telluride Group. Much Appreciated
