• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Installed Proximity Door Lock/Unlock Module

Agreed. It would be even easier if you had the wiring harness out of the car. Assuming your CANH and CANL were orange as well?
Yes - both were orange...

Based on the M1 black wire being in slot 8, assumed the CANL to also be in the even numbered slot (i.e. M4, pin 4) and it worked. Was very happy when both LEDs lit up on power up 😁.

I did wire the proximity module onto the remote start before installing behind the glove box.

Thanks again.

Thanks Lith_SXPN for the post. This is AWESOME!!! I leave my car unlocked more than I do locked because my previous car had auto lock.

Just ordered the sensor from Shark Racing. Didn't feel like buying a part I didn't need or paying 25% shipping so I ordered 2. It takes about 2 weeks to get here from South Korea. If someone is interested in the extra one message me. $99 plus shipping and it won't be $25. More like $4-6 and you'll have it in 3 days. I'm in SoCal so pickup is an option as well.
Did someone already buy your other one?

Someone please link me to what I need to order and give me the best installation / results . TYIA

Ordered

Just installed this myself and wired in the passenger side where the accessorides compustar remote start is. Easier to hide then underneath the steering wheel. Turned out really clean and works with no issues. Agree the unlock distance could be a hair better but works really well. Great wall through.
So can I install the Shatk Racing module on the passenger side with no issues or is there more to it?

Assuming you have the accessorides remote start, refer to post #53-#55 if you want to install it on passenger side.

Thanks. That will be a no. Going on driver side then. Cant believe this wasnt standard

IMHO - If installing only the proximity module - easier to do on driver's side per the instructions included with the module.

If also installing the accessorides remote start, piggy-backing the two on the passenger side is easier. If doing the "take-over" remote start, highly recommend using 10 gauge 'Posi-Tap' connectors for easy tapping of the 2 wires at the fuse box.

Thanks for the great write up.

I ordered mine early Saturday morning, it came yesterday (Tuesday), and I put it on today (Wednesday). It's amazing that it got here that quick from S. Korea. I already had the Accessorides remote start and everything works fine together. Since the module was $99 and there was $25 shipping on orders under $100, I ordered the LED reverse lamps for $15. So instead of just the module for $124, I got both the module and the lights for $115.

I reached out to Shark Racing to see if they would offer a discount or a group buy discount. Here is there answer.

Group buy anyone ;)

Hello,

Thanks for your interest in Shark Racing.

We can offer your members a discount, but I'm afraid free shipping is not an option at this time. UPS or EMS via the postal service are the only two shipping options available, and both of these options have relatively high base shipping fees.

The only way we can do this is, if you or someone else in your forum does a group buy, we can send one package to the US, and then each part can be shipped individually to each person within the US.

I think Sam(SR owner) will do % discount too, if there are enough orders(it was 15 minimum for Stinger). If someone wants to deal with shipping individual pieces out, it would be a pretty good deal.

I can do the individual shipping if there is enough orders.

i have 2 kits, im a little nervous about installing them.. the whole removing the door trim/weather strip seems like a PITA. local shop is quoting $70-85 per car ugh

Actually $70 seems pretty reasonable for shop time, but you can shop around for prices. Ask the shop if they will discount for doing 2 cars. I am guessing it will take a pro less than 30 minutes to complete the job. As for diy install, it is easy. You will have harder time taking off the hood release handle and cover behind it than weather strip and door trim. Take your time doing the 1st one. You won't even need directions for the 2nd.

This should have been standard option on all Kia models. Well worth the money!
Thanks for all your work on this. Def considering it. Questions regarding your video. That is your original key fob, correct? So am I to assume there is a proximity chip(?) in remote just no sensor module on the truck? Also in your video you appear to move about 10 feet or so away but then wait for the lock, is this just a delay or would you normally move further away for it to lock? Thanks again. Think I'm gonna give this a shot.

It works with original fob. Telluride needs to have power folding mirrors(EX+ trim) for it to function. The module works in conjunction with "Welcome Mode". As the car detects your fob on approach, it will fold out the mirrors on normal operation. The module will send unlock signal in addition to that. Locking works the opposite way, once the car doesn't detect the fob inside the car(or walk far enough from the car), module will lock the car(on a timer I think). Mirror will fold in once the car is locked(normal operation).

Thanks. I've got an EXP NF and the lack of proximity L/U is annoying. Didn't think about the welcome feature (tried to read all the way back on thread). So think its easy enough for a 2 left thumbs kinda guy like me?

I would definitely be in for a group order. Was actually going to suggest it. Keep me in mind if get enough or if just decide 2 or 3 people for the free shipping. Can PayPal or Venmo my part no problem.
