If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Installed Proximity Door Lock/Unlock Module

Thanks, I've made the changes and here is the updated guide.
I can't thank you enough. You really made this so easy.
this is great, will definitely be installing this. anyone who has installed this proximity sensor come across any issues?
I don't think this is a problem of the module, since this is essentially behavior inherited from the welcome feature, but the welcoming and unlocking happens so close (~3-5') to my arrival at the door handle. I really wish the range of when the welcome occurred was at least 10' from the door. Beyond that, this is an excellent mod that restores a feature that should have been included in the truck. So relaxing to just walk away and know the doors will take care of themselves

Any issues with installing both this proximity sensor AND the Accessorides Remote Start Module w/take over?

I don't have a definite answer for this but module just locks or unlocks the door with proximity "welcome" function of the car. It works as intended with OEM remote start(21) so it should with Accessorides as well.

Thanks Lith_SXPN for the post. This is AWESOME!!! I leave my car unlocked more than I do locked because my previous car had auto lock.

Just ordered the sensor from Shark Racing. Didn't feel like buying a part I didn't need or paying 25% shipping so I ordered 2. It takes about 2 weeks to get here from South Korea. If someone is interested in the extra one message me. $99 plus shipping and it won't be $25. More like $4-6 and you'll have it in 3 days. I'm in SoCal so pickup is an option as well.

Wow, that’s really nice of you. For anyone else that doesn’t take advantage of your kind offer, the cheapest thing on their site to get your order over $100 for free shipping are 2 Kia license plate screws for $10

It sucks that SR has to charge $25 for a small module(which also retails for ~$65 in Korea) that weigh next to nothing. Covid messed up international shipping big time.

On a brighter note, this proximity module for the Palisade only works on the Telluride in the US market since power folding mirrors are not available on USDM Palisade. :)

@Lith_SXPN Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial. I was getting my kiddo into my '04 Acura the other day and thinking how nice it would be when my car would auto-unlock when I approached, and then remembered that the telluride actually will not have this feature. I had no idea you could purchase this aftermarket and am even more appreciative of your step-by-step write up! Thank you!

Just installed this myself and wired in the passenger side where the accessorides compustar remote start is. Easier to hide then underneath the steering wheel. Turned out really clean and works with no issues. Agree the unlock distance could be a hair better but works really well. Great wall through.

Please explain/detail.

About to swap out my accessorides non-takeover for their long distance with takeover... if the proximity can be wired into the same area, sounds like a great idea.

I wouldn't swap it out unless you can return it. They sent me the compustar module and all I had to do was get the compustar usb programming cable and configured it myself. The module is the same, heck I would assume the wiring harness is too. Just the takeover wire is not used.

Attached a picture of the wires I tapped into. If you look at the board there is 12v, ground, CANH, CANL. I just velcro'd it to the remote start module and spliced into the accessorides harness. The colors on M4 harness does not match. My CAN wires were orange. Just use M1 to find out the orientation of the slots 1, 2, 3, 4, .... etc. So you know which orange is the High and the Low. Orange wire on M1 is on this end of the harness so on M4 slot 3 is on this end. Hope that helps. I just did it on that side as it was so much easier to work on and can be unplugged with the remote start anytime.

I asked accessorides how to upgrade - i.e. just purchase additional parts; they told me for warranty purposes to order the new unit configured for takeover with long range, then they would send a return label for the original unit and refund me the cost of the original unit.

Is this essentially the wiring you talking about [based on my assumption inserted above]:

Not sure I'm following this...
- You're saying the CANH1 wire was not Brown/Red and CANL1 was not Brown/Yellow; rather both were Orange?
- Then you determined which was which just by position in the M4 plug coming from the remote start unit?

Orange wire on M1 is on this end of the harness so on M4 slot 3 is on this end.
I'm definitely not following what what you mean by "this end" in each instance...

I agree, that's why I'm trying to make sure I understand. And the bonus is no additional factory wiring tapped into other than the takeover wires for the remote.

Sorry for being a pest - just don't want to screw anything up... Really appreciate your time and help.

Correct, the wiring harness that accessorides uses doesn't match the wiring harness colors provided from Compustar. And mine were orange as I assume yours will be as well. And yes, I looked at M1 to get how the order of the plug went. As the black was number 8, then I can start there on M4 and work my way back to get the CANH and CANL. I should have taken pictures.

I can tell you to be careful cutting back the fabric to tap into those wires. They wrapped it all the way back to the module so it's hard unravel.

Thanks again! 🍻

I'll be giving it a try as soon as I get the upgraded remote start unit (I'll be certain to be careful cutting back the fabric to tap into the wires...)

I'll let you know how it goes - hopefully without having to ask more questions ;)

I am sorry if I did not understand this earlier as it was mentioned. If the Telluride was locked, I walked to the rear passenger side to load my kid up and had the key in my pocket would all doors unlock in this case? or just the driver door?

It will unlock all doors. You need to check off "double press" unlock feature in the dash settings.

@Shermer321 -

Completed the install of my upgrade to accessories remote start with takeover and long range remote piggy-backing the proximity module as you outlined.

PERFECT!

Thanks again for your posting installing this way and for your help in answering my questions.

So much better way to do it if you're doing both mods.

(y)(y):)👏👏

Agreed. It would be even easier if you had the wiring harness out of the car. Assuming your CANH and CANL were orange as well?
