• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Thank you! Do you think it’s a must to do?
Only if you’re having issues or haven’t updated for a bit. Otherwise you really don’t have to worry.

Looks like this update isn't very favourable and you can't roll it back after the fact so I'll sit this one out.

I think you have this thread confused for the UVO software update for the infotainment screen. The bcjenkins post which you quoted earlier and for bruesjoh’s response are all in reference to the Carplay2air wireless Apple Carplay module.

You are referring to the controversial v14.10 update for UVO. There should be an update released next month. Only time will tell if there are any updates that address the current complaints.

14.10 update (November 2020) now available

Wonder if there are plans to upgrade the technology in the Telluride like the 2021 Sorento that has wireless Apple Play/Android Auto?
Really? 🤯

Why?

Wires are cool :ROFLMAO:

Ain't no one gonna hijack my Harmon/Kardon sound system with their crap music.

AAWireless is back in stock available for June shipping. There are 20,000 available.

Thanks. I ordered one after reading some reviews that suggest it works as advertised. $75 plus $15 shipping (to US addresses) is a little more than I was hoping to pay for a gadget like this, but it should be fun to play around with. Combined with widescreen support (if Kia ever decides this is more important than a purple tube radio screen), I'd use AA on every drive.

Agreed. I was hoping for a little cheaper, but I'll be glad to have one!

I ordered one too about 2-3 weeks ago.

I went with the Carlinkit 2.0 adapter instead of the CarPlay2Air as it seems to be a newer release from the original manufacturer. The CarPlay2Air seems to be a white labeled version of the Carlinkit 1.0. I've only done a bit of testing since I purchased, but did not notice any delays. Not sure this really helps you, but I wanted to share my experience.

You may want to consider updating the firmware on the CarPlay2Air. I can't say how to do that, but my Carlinkit 2.0 came with instructions on doing it. Of course there were many warnings about potentially bricking the device if you attempt to update the firmware.
Where do you put your Carlinkit in your car? Center console? Does it take up such room that you can’t wirelessly charge?

The Carplay2air works great!

I used some velcro and affixed it to the lid of the wireless charging bay. It allows me to open and close the bay lid if I desire. It also does not interfere with the USB charging and other ports in that bay so that is good. I don't have a picture handy, but I'll try to get one the next time I'm in the car.

I'm new with Android Auto and in my SXP I plugged my pixel 5 in and works, but really didn't see/hear difference in bluetooth. I use YouTube Music. I can tell google to play songs, playlist, shuffle, volume. I have navigation on it and goes thru audio, side note love that it comes from driver's side speakers while others are not disturbed. What am I missing?

Can it be used in any USB port or does it have to be the one in the same one you use for wired? I would like to put it in the center console.
You can connect it to any USB port within 100 miles from the car.

Unfortunately, it has to be the same port.

Would love to see a picture when you can!

I believe it has to be the same port, because this port connects to the system. The other ports in the car just provide power.

The way I see it is Carplay2air or any device that does the same function would make the car system sense there is a mobile phone connected, so that's why it has to be the same port.

Hey all. I'm about to go order a '21 telluride and came across this post. Too bad about it but supporting wireless AA or CP but the adapters out there seem good. Just wanted to say thanks for the good info. I have an AAwireless on order and hope it works well. My wife has an iphone so I'll be looking into those options next. Happy to be part of the kia family!
