Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

exactly! I think the moment they hear Telluride, they probably do not have any incentive to call back
sad but true. We are litterally throwing money at these guys and they duck and run or stab us in the back at any moment with no warning. They wonder why direct sales are the future. That guy hopefully knows how to turn a wrench

These dealers don't understand they are alienating some of us FOR LIFE, for 2k, what f*****g morons

Sounds like the guy isn't answering anything, he must be selling enough cars.
In all fairness... watched auction again this Tuesday.. 3 more Telluride sold at auction 1 2020 and 2 2021's... all sold over MSRP at auction.

When this happens Owners notice and it comes to a point in no longer makes sense to sell at MSRP.

Nothing wrong at all buying, at MSRP and plenty of stores doing it.. but this market is madness.

I have buddies at Toyota and everything is selling above MSRP or at MSRP and they are keeping all rebates.. And they are sold out of Tacoma's, Tundra's, Sequoia...

The chip shortage effecting almost all brands isn't helping. Several companies have turned off their plants.
Add to this Carvana/Carmax paying above premium for every car going through auction.
Just about any 2020 model with miles is selling for right at MSRP at auction.

Its becoming just as crazy as the mortgage side.. or price of wood.

Lots of things happening behind the scenes, making owners who were at MSRP to change their mind. My store being one of them.

WOW:oops:

I'm getting our telluride cheaper than some dealers are paying, that is truly insane.

If they are going over msrp at auction, there is NO CHOICE but for you to mark them up. I've seen crazy prices on TRD Pro's going thru auction lately too.

Our 4runner got 23k at beginning of covid, we are getting offers of 29k now as we wait for the telluride, and I think we can sell it for 31-32 private. Its 6 years old with 70k miles and we maybe paid 40 when we got it!!!

I know commodities are going up like crazy now, I've built a lot in the last few years and seen the increases first hand, it actually stopped my next project until something shakes loose here.

Thank you for the info, again you are always informative.

Yup, hopefully not a bubble being formed with everything going through the roof(all kinds of commodity).

Time will tell.. but this is by far the best time to sell a used car since I've done this for 11 years.

I think its just inflation and they won't admit it yet because people will freak out. But! I don't want to hijack this thread it is a good one.

The only probably with selling your car right now is finding a new one as everyone on this thread knows!

The local dealership wanted $4000. I told him I am disabled and in a wheelchair. I need the $4000 to get the car customized so I can drive it. He didn't care.

Carriage Kia - Gainesville, GA (outside Atlanta). Competent, fair, and knowledgeable.

Every Model they have listed on their website is above MSRP...
I agree. They have $5k markup and are pretty open about advertising it. They don’t take custom orders as well. Should not belong to good dealers list.

Just came back home yesterday after flying into Denver to pick up my brand new Telluride with I-25 Kia. I had an awesome buying experience and this is coming from an out-of-state buyer. I flew in on a Monday and drove my brand new Telluride home and logged a little over 1k miles. First off, Dom (@DominicI25KIA) was my point of contact from the get go. Online forums, specifically Telluride ones, have raved about the I-25 Kia and specifically Dom as the go-to guy. Boy were the highly positive reviews right! I initially PMed Dom in one of the forums and eventually transitioned into emailing/texting/calling him with all the questions I had and placed an order for a Telluride in the exact specs I wanted. I got my car in 1.5 months time. Wow! Other dealers were quoting a wait time of 4-8 months. If you want a Telluride or any Kia for that matter, go with I-25! I hate buying cars. And buying out of state? Ugh... That feeling of something going the wrong way...

Well I sure am glad I risked it because it was very well worth it in the end. I would do it all over again. Dom was responsive to all my inquiries and still is after buying the car. One of the few dealers with NO MARKUP. That in itself is rare considering that this car is marked up by 8-16k here in SoCal! Please purchase with I-25 Kia and you will not be disappointed. Mike was also working extra hard that Monday to keep all customers happy despite some waiting due to unforeseen circumstances. I even got got a free ride from the airport to dealer right after I landed. Definitely appreciated the extra little touch!

The ONLY con is that I wished I-25 Kia was closer to me!!

Good feeling, right? And you didn't have to wait too long, at all. Congrats.

Yes, quite refreshing actually. And @DominicI25KIA is here too which was was one of the main reasons I decided to go with them. He’s promptly responded to any of my questions unlike other local sales guys/gals who promised to call me back but never did. I don’t understand the concept of not wanting to make money.

SO HAPPY FOR YOU! I've been working with Dom over at I-25 as well because of your recommendation. I can second that he's been pretty amazing! Can't wait for my Telly to come in! Congrats!!

So I picked up my Telly today and love it. But I had to haggle over the financing, interest rate, and extended warranty. The interest rates were higher than what was offered through Kia Financing. And they got lower if I bought the extended warranty for $2650. I know my FICO score and it was more than enough to qualify for the low rates through Kia. I also knew what my credit union was offering. When I asked about those Kia offers, his reasoning was that since he was selling at MSRP when all the other dealers were marking up, he had to make some profit off the car. I was polite but I called horsepoop on him and said no to the extended warranty and to come back with better interest rates for me. I ended up with the interest rate I wanted and no extra fees or menu items. So while this dealer does sell at MSRP, just be informed on the financing tactics.

Thanks for your review and follow-up. I'm in Nashville and I contacted Cumberland today about a Telluride. They wanted a $3k dealer markup, but would give MSRP pricing to local residents. So maybe a good deal if you're a resident of Cookeville, TN, but pretty average/poor if not.

Just sent a check for my telluride. It came in today I’ll grab it Friday morning. Garvy did not add any stupid fees and they also got everything to the insurance agent so that’s all set too. Overall still going smooth and happy with the process. Gave me a good trade in offer as well.

excited to get it Friday!

Hi, we are looking in the Portland area. Did they change you a premium? Thank you
Hello, I am from the Portland in my extensive search no dealer in Portland (even Seatttle/Tacoma) area, is selling at msrp. Markups between 5k-10K. The nearest dealership is Hilltop Kia in Richmond, CA however, wait time is 6-8 months (at the time I placed my order (Jan 2021).

Any places in New England that aren’t charging 5k markups?
