• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is there any way to disable the incident recording " feature"?

You are asking for a "friend"?
Yes, a " friend" who isn't excited about his insurance co. using it to contest a claim. He's known to drive a little over the speed limit as well and is not sold on law enforcement being able to get into it.

There’s a black box? 😮

The only two monitors I am aware of are:
  1. If the airbags are deployed in an accident, the car is able to use UVO to call 911 for you
  2. UVO data service can locate your car via GPS and provide a trip history (point a to point b)
The first is configurable. The second you can probably call UVO customer service to deactivate UVO on your car, but as long as a SIM is installed in the car, they can probably always monitor your whereabouts on the backend.

They can do more. Goggle what the cops were able to determine on Tiger Wood's accident. It records in a loop . available through court order. Just about every new car has it. Insurance cos love it. How many of us stay within the speed limit?

The manufactures say they use it for "research".
