Your statement may be generally true, but by no means accurate. My Nissan Frontier I bought earlier this year came with a ball in a box as part of the package. I haven't used it yet though. I'm guessing it will fit in my Telly's receiver. Maybe a Sunday project. BTW - As far as the Telly, no ball is provided.There are many different configurations of ball size and rise/drop. For this reason no manufacturer will include the hitch ball. It really depends on your specific application.

^^^ THIS! It's really important to have whatever you are towing to ride level at normal load. Ball brackets are available in a wide range of rise or drop heights to do just that.There are many different configurations of ball size and rise/drop. For this reason no manufacturer will include the hitch ball. It really depends on your specific application.
