Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

Just ordered an SX from Lou Fusz in stl for msrp. Was told 3 month wait. Larry Haywood was the salsperson. Did everything thru email. Easy and quick process. Now the wait begins......

I wanted to put a plug in here for my local dealer who is BY FAR the best car dealer I have worked with, not just the best Kia dealer. Lev Kia in Framingham, MA is AWESOME! I have now bought 5 cars from them to date and just ordered my Telluride a couple weeks back. My mother in law even bought a used Toyota Camry from them that they pulled from their sister dealer (Toyota of Wellesley) and sold it to us for less since it was no longer a "Certified Pre Owned" at the Toyota store.
I have bought 3 cars from Phil O'Hanian who has since left (and is greatly missed) and now 3 more from Ken Russian. I have always worked closely with Bert Lueth, the used car manager, and he is aggressive on trades, but also extremely fair. He even told me one time to call Carvana or CarMax cause he knew they were offering more on the specific trade in I had than he was going to be able and I made an additional $2k on the deal.
They are currently selling Tellurides at MSRP. They are taking orders with a FULLY REFUNDABLE $500 deposit and writing on the contract "Subject to Test Drive and Final Terms Approval by Customer" so you can walk away at any time without penalty. They are including any incentives available at the time of delivery and will NEVER try to screw someone out of their money.
I can also tell you that their service department is top notch. I am not one to take my cars to the dealer routinely, almost always doing work on my own or through smaller shops. However, my 2012 Optima SX and my wife's current 2019 Sorento EX have ONLY been serviced at LEV and I will keep in that way. Their pricing is very good and they are always sensitive to my time when I'm waiting.
+1 on Ken Russian. Up front and honest. I had the same deal written up for my 2022 gravity gray SX w NF pkg. Practicing patience while waiting the remaining 9 months for my baby Telly to be born😩🤣

Wanted to say I found this board while Googling for information and it was massively helpful. Jim Ellis Kennesaw (Atlanta area) stuck us with a $5000 addendum on a new Telluride and I walked. I contacted Ed Voyles Chamblee and getting a custom order was breezy. Got a quote for $51,120 for:
Sx
Dark Moss
Prestige package
Dune leather
Nightfall edition
Towing package
Illuminated scuff plates
The process was ridiculously painless to set up, no addendum only fee besides taxes is a $798 dealership. $2000 deposit is fully refundable. If you want one in the Georgia area and can wait it is how I would go. The exploitative behavior of so many dealerships due to an artificial scarcity problem is really gross.

Wow. I have a friend who's been a salesman at Jim Ellis for 20+ years who told me that Mr. Ellis would NEVER charge above MSRP for any vehicle -- whether it be a Corvette, GMC Yukon Denali, or Kia Telluride.

Wow. I'm really surprised.

Dear Lord. And a huge doc fee too? Wow.

I just ordered my SX Prestige, Nightfall Wolf/Dune from @Helen Brouillette at Fort Bend Kia thanks to recommendations here. I drove to the dealership since I had some free time and wanted to meet her in person. The whole staff at Fort Bend Kia was amazing! I have never walked into a dealership that was so relaxed before. Smiles (REAL) on faces, people happy to chat with you about your day, etc.

The details:
$500 fully refundable deposit (for any reason)
NO markup above MSRP
NO additional items/services required to purchase
NO stipulation on financing or trade ins

I didn't even have to buy floor mats. (y)(y)

The downside - they are consistently quoting 6 month turnaround, which is more than I would like. It's understandable though, given that their nearest competitor is Westside Kia, with $10k markups and salesmen telling customers that Kia hasn't been accepting orders since early 2020.
Can you share Helens' phone or email. Thanks!!!

They've absolutely.....LOST their damned minds! Glad you went to Ed Voyles!! Good luck w/it....
We got a follow up from the dealership, and I told them that we live in a day and age where information is cheap and easy and I went to the Internet and found someone who wasn’t going to charge me an extra $5100 just for the pleasure of doing business with them. It really really left a bad taste in my mouth.

....as it most CERTAINLY should @Mr Tree--that is precisely the right approach!! Way to go. Stand your ground!!

GREAT SALESMAN EXPERIENCE!!

I am in CA and all dealerships are $7500 to 10,000 over MSRP. At the suggestion of someone in this forum I checked out some dealerships in Colorado.

I ordered from Jakeob Taylor at Arapahoe Kia in CO. NO MARKUP! So I’ll be saving $7500+ for a short plane ride and a 2-day road trip back to CA.

Jakeob took my order right over the phone the process took less than 10 minutes! And is always responsive to my follow-up questions. Give him a call and let him know I referred you!

Who did you work with at Hendrick KIA, and how long between order and receiving car. Here in the Asheville, (St)ealer is asking $10,000 OVER MSRP!

Wow 10k over is insane.

I had a deal worked out with Kia of High Point and the dealer tried to add in 1k over MSRP at the last second and wouldn’t budge. So I went somewhere else. Tried to be super sneaky making me think the 1k was a deposit that came off the MSRP but was actually done as in addition to it.

Wasted two days with Bob King Kia of Winston after reports of them doing MSRP. Tried the recommended salesman, Dennis Baldwin. He all of a sudden wanted to add 1500 over MSRP and acted very shady about everything. Even though he was advertising MSRP through the Kia Telluride NC Facebook groups. Sigh epic waste of time and had me chasing him.

I used Ryen Sallee at Hendrick. He was great to work with and had my order submitted in 20 minutes at MSRP no added fees.

Forgot to add, I haven’t gotten mine yet but I did just place it today. Was told 3-6 months wait.

I’ll never understand why those other dealers wanted to waste my time when I was very upfront and clear about not paying a penny over MSRP.

I also worked with Hendrick recently to place my order. SX AWD P/T/N at MSRP, and they’re very easy to work with & transparent. They are stating 4-5 months delivery timeframe. I am working with Ivy Johnson. Her email is: Ivy.Johnson@hendrickauto.com and her cell is (845) 527-7924. You can tell her Michelle from Orlando referred you. We weren’t finding anything here in FL that wasn’t marked up incredibly and willing to take a long drive and see another part of the east coast.

Did the Nowcar order fall through for you? I know you've been waiting a while, it just seemed it wasn't moving along at all!

No, still have the NowCar order….playing the odds as to which dealership works out first. I have a feeling we’ll be making the drive to NC but we’ll see!

Jake Sweeney Kia in Cincinnati area(Florence Kentucky) is selling at MSRP w/1000 deposit(non refundable). Turn around is 6-8 weeks. I ordered a WG SXP w/NF along with some accessories on Jun 13th, Dealer is saying early August for delivery.
