Confused about KFOS Acceptance & Time it shows up in Failcat

I'm relatively new to this thread. I'm a little confused as I see posts about "acceptance into KFOS" and when it shows up in Failcat with a VIN. From what I've read, this looks like two separate events. When/how do you know it has been accepted into KFOS? Do you get this from the dealer? Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes KFOS opens once a month for like 5-7 days. For July it closed Monday the 12th. August will be the next KFOS opening. How fast that process happens all depends on where you are in-line at your specific dealer and how many allocations your dealer gets each month. Your dealer will know after the closing if your kdealer order was accepted into KFOS. A few days after accepted into KFOS they should have your 1st ETA. About a month later, +/- a few weeks, you should see it in Failcat.

Thanks. This info is very helpful. Are you sure KFOS closed this PAST Monday. I thought it was closing this coming Monday from what I read from Stephen. Can someone verify if its already closed? Thanks!

That’s my understanding as well and that’s the date I have on the calendar to follow up with my dealer. I’ve had my order in since April and still waiting for KFOS pickup.

Does dealer need to place order before KFOS closes? Placed order 7/16. Dealer said will order 8/15, will that put acceptance out to Sept?

My dealer said they put my order in on the 21st and it was accepted by KFOS... not sure if that's the same date it was accepted but he called me on the 26th to let me know. Any idea where this would put my order? Build starting August or September? Thanks

Maybe. Definitely depends on location. Alaska or Hawaii by chance? Every place else in the states, unlikely.

Mine was accepted in July and I have an ETA of mid to late October.

Mine was accepted in July KFOS, VIN showed up in failcat 7/15 and ETA of 8/25 (Colorado), so it must vary quite a bit
