You can bring your car to any dealership you want for service and warranty work. Dealer probably did not want to do it.My nearest dealer told me to take it to where I bought it from for warranty work Twice.
They gladly did the oil change for $140 though
Was it $140 for the oil change with synthetic? Were any other services done? I am curious about maintenance costs. I will be paying for oil changes soon. ThxMy nearest dealer told me to take it to where I bought it from for warranty work Twice.

Why would an oil change be 140 Dollars? Was it $140 for the oil change with synthetic? Were any other services done? I am curious about maintenance costs. I will be paying for oil changes soon. Thx
You are not obligated to go to a dealer for maintenance (for the purpose of keeping your warranty intact) unless it’s free. Was it $140 for the oil change with synthetic? Were any other services done? I am curious about maintenance costs. I will be paying for oil changes soon. Thx
Thx, I learned about that. I haven’t found a KIA garage yet so a dealership is as good as any place for now. I do need to ask around. You are not obligated to go to a dealer for maintenance (for the purpose of keeping your warranty intact) unless it’s free.

When the manufacturer offers it for free. For example BMW. Some other OEMs have adopted “free scheduled maintenance” tooI'm super curious: in what instance would it be free? Sorry for the dumb question in advance as I've not experienced this before.
