• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Do I have to have warranty work done at the dealer I purchased from, or can I go to a different dealer?

My nearest dealer told me to take it to where I bought it from for warranty work Twice.

They gladly did the oil change for $140 though

Was it $140 for the oil change with synthetic? Were any other services done? I am curious about maintenance costs. I will be paying for oil changes soon. Thx

Canadian.
$20 was for old/ used oil disposal.

You are not obligated to go to a dealer for maintenance (for the purpose of keeping your warranty intact) unless it’s free.

Thx, I learned about that. I haven’t found a KIA garage yet so a dealership is as good as any place for now. I do need to ask around.

I dont know, but if u like hyundai i would try them to see if i could get work done there..i mean they are the same company... but i dunno u can ask what harm would it do...

Edit...yep warranty work has to be with a kia dealer.. i went to the dealer today to fill out some paper work.. but he said any kia dealer is good for doing warranty work!

I'm super curious: in what instance would it be free? Sorry for the dumb question in advance as I've not experienced this before.

When the manufacturer offers it for free. For example BMW. Some other OEMs have adopted “free scheduled maintenance” too
