White weights, black wheels

My Telly has after-market wheels on it. They were installed by the dealer on our first Telly (LX), and when we traded in for this S a few weeks ago, we had the dealer swap the stock S wheels for our after-markets.

Took it back to the dealer yesterday to get balanced, and they used white balancing weights on my very black wheels! Am I being too anal about this? Should I paint the weights??

I have the same thing going on. I just replaced my wheels. The shop I had do it took three tries to balance and I ended up having to take it to another shop to get it done right. The new shop used white weights as opposed to silver. I'm just happy to not have a shake so I don't really care. I'm sure they'll get dirty and dull over time.

Yours isn't too bad, I've got huge strips of weights on my wheels.

If you don't mind taking off the wheels, some quick masking and a spray of flat black paint would work. If not, using a small brush and paint while they are still on. Even a big sharpie.

I was thinking Sharpie, too. Seems like it'd be easier and would darken them enough to not stand out so much.

I would darken them, especially if there’s a different number of weights on each wheel.

If you wait long enough the brake dust and dirt will naturally take care of that for you.

Liked the Sharpie idea, but it's probably a moot point now anyway. Got her up to highway speeds, and it's still not balanced right! Now begins the fight to get my money back from the Kia dealership and take it somewhere to get it done right!!
