If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello All

first post - thanks to all that contribute to this forum!

Has anyone placed an order with this dealership (Matt Croissant)? He promises 2-3 month turnaround on factory orders. However, looking at failcat, Kia of Columbia, MO is a low volume dealer. From what I've read so far in this forum, low volume dealers tend to have the longest lead times.

Anyone have experience with this dealership? If so, how was your experience and how long did it take from order to delivery?

thanks

I got my Telluride from Kia of Columbia, worked with David King. I didn't have a specific order, but told him what trim, colors I would consider, to match up with dealer allocations, as it seemed that would be the quicker option, and I was open.

I first went in early March, then went back in to narrow things down on March 19th. Trim (SXP-AWD), 3 colors I liked (DM, BC & GG) interior color (dark).

He texted in late March about a GWP, but I didn't want white, and it wasn't a SXP. I said I'd wait.

April 15th he texted they had a BC SXP Nightfall coming in, was I interested? Yes! ETA was 6/15. May 11 - ETA was moved to 5/30, May 20th he texted to say it was in transit, would probably be there early next week, then that afternoon sent a text he was off on the delivery date, with a picture of my car on the truck. I picked it up 5/24.

Overall, it was good - this is the first time I've bought a car this way, and if I'd had a bit more focus when I first went in, might have had something earlier. I kind of count the 19th as starting, since that's when I narrowed, and that put it just over 2 months. If I'd ordered to be built, probably would have been a bit longer.

Sorry, this maybe way more than you wanted, if you have specific questions, let me know. Bought my previous Sedona with them, and husband ordered a Stinger with them as well

Appreciate the input! Catching an inbound Telly that isn't already claimed sure sounds quicker. From what I understand, that's pretty rare though.

I already have an order in with them. I get good vibes from Matt. He's been straight forward and easy to work with so far. MSRP + $199 and no pressure to add anything is what gained my business. Complete opposite of the greedy salesmen out here in CA.

I was just wondering about the relatively short lead time he promised. After reading about allocations for high-to-low volume dealers, I'm starting to question the lead time. Just another impatient customer :)

We've had a good experience with everyone there, so I'm sure Matt is as well. Good luck with your order. So do you live in CA, but ordering in MO?

Thanks, same to you!

Yes, I'm in CA. Markup in my area ranges from 10K to 17K! And most will tell you that you can't place a factory order, or that it's a 12-month wait minimum.

Even with the cost of delivery, it's cheaper to purchase out of state.

thanks again for your input

No problem - glad to be of help. I love mine, so you'll be very happy!

I have an order in with Matt too and was curious about this. I placed my order 7/28, and he sent a message last week saying I’d get an update on allocations this week. Still no word, but keeping my fingers crossed that I hear something tomorrow.
When did you place your order?

Same with me, except my order was last week. Hopefully we both get a video update tomorrow :)

It's so bizarre to be excited about paying MSRP for a vehicle :/

I hope so! It’s been very difficult to be patient!
You’re right, it is odd to be so excited about that! After reading all the horror stories about crazy markups though it feels like fantastic luck!
What trim/options did you go for?

Curious to hear your experiences because I ordered one this week from Kia of Columbia

Did you purchase at MSRP or with markup?

MSRP, no mark up, just put $1000 refundable deposit down. They didn't even cash my check, could have applied it to purchase, or what I did was take it back & voided it, then just wrote 1 check

EX Nightfall Premium with Tow in Wolf Gray. And you?

Gravity Gray is nice too! Have you heard from Matt yet?
Nope, not yet. I’m really hoping to hear something soon! Have you heard anything?

I am in California also. You purchased your Tely in Columbia and are driving it back to California ? If so any issues with restrictive California Smog regulations?
Any do’s and fonts buying out of state would be greatly appreciated.

I plan on having it shipped. The Telly is 50 state EPA compliant, just need to get it smog-checked when it arrives in CA. You will need to pay the taxes for the state that the vehicle will be registered in, so in our case CA. Same for registration fees. There's a thread here on the forum that offers some detail - search "California". There are also plenty of resources on the internet regarding the process, including the CA DMV.
