18x9” wheels too big?

Does anyone have 18x9 wheels on their Telly? I see some very nice wheels from American Racing, to mate with 265/60r18 tires, and from what I see online most recommend (limit?) 18x8. I believe any tire bigger than that will start rubbing at some point. Would having a 9” rims, even if said tires get managed to be mounted, too deep, regardless of the wheel offset? (35mm)

I also see somewhere who managed to put on a 20x10 wheel with +10mm offset (and says no rub?). So I'm thinking perhaps 18x9 is doable?

As an engineer, I find it incredible that the auto manufacturers still don't publish vehicle wheel-well specs! Whether certain tire/wheel fits/rubs shouldn't be a guess work.

Do you know what wheel it is? Most companies have a fitment guide that vehicle specific on their website or on wheelpros.com. An 18x9 with one brand and make is different than a different one.

Looking at Fuel wheels, to go for a more 4x4 truck look. Unfortunately they don’t have a fitment guide, and most sites don’t show rhem when “search by car model”

That’s why I was reccomending to use Wheels Pros, they are prettt much the main distributor for all wheels brands to every shop in America. Discount tire, Tire Rack, etc all buy their rims from them.

just put on the telluride info then it will pull up every brand and model that fits the telluride. Then from there you can filter brand and size you want.

Check out KMC, BlackRhino, Raceline, and MKW I think offers the most options for the Telluride and Overland look.
