Kia of Columbia in Missouri

Has anyone had any luck with their orders at Kia of Columbia? Anyone get an ETA or word that your order has been picked up?

I got a video message from Matt yesterday in which he said there hasn’t been any movement in regards to my order (ordered mid july). There’s been some work stoppages out of the Kia plant due to the chip shortage, which I could affect their order fulfillment. I check failcat regularly, and have noticed a drop off in vin creations in the last week or so for their dealership. Hopefully it picks up soon. That said, an October fulfillment would be in line with the original estimate for my order.

That’s interesting! I ordered end of July and was told 2-4 months. Maybe there was a big influx of orders in august that changed the time estimate. Though I do wonder if the estimate I got is way off.

I received a video “update” last week which didn’t offer any real news. He said he was hoping to have some good news the following day. Never heard from him since, so I’m assuming my order wasn’t picked up. I guess its another 4 weeks to see if we hit the lottery with KFOS.

Got a video update last Wednesday saying the same stuff; not picked up yet, holding out hope for an October delivery still. I did reach out for clarification, and it sounds like they filled a lot of S trims this time around? It’s a bit confusing because the terminology he uses sounds different than what I’ve learned here.

yes, they're a low volume dealer.

Yup they are, but they were picking up just about an order per day last month. Interesting to see the numbers going forward.

I picked up a Sangria SX yesterday from Kia of Columbia. Came in two weeks early. They got a truck load of them all at one time. Paid MSRP and $199 document fee. I dealt with David King, who is one of their top performers. Highly rececommend David and Kia of Columbia.

I have personally dealt with Shawnee Mission Kia in Kansas City and the time line depends on the trim level as well as additional allocations the dealership receives. They have been number one for a while and good customer service and don't mark up 3,5,-10k over MSRP. Hope this helps

Hi, whom did you meet or work with at this location? I've went to Shawnee Mission Kia today and looked at the pre-owned telluride and had a test drive. The sales rep told me that on new vehicles there's a markup of 5k and on pre-owned the markup is 7k.

Do you happen to know any dealers in the KC area who might be offering msrp alone?

It is quite disappointing after a pretty solid month of filled orders in August. I really hope October is going to be more successful. There is no way at this point that I’ll meet the time frame I was originally given (ordered end of July, told 2-3 months).

Yeah I know things change but there is no way I get mine in the 2-3 months I was told when I ordered. It sucks but I can’t do anything about it right now because I’m not paying a markup

I didn’t hear anything today/this week. I’ve been wondering when kfos is open; it’s usually posted by now, but I have yet to see anyone give any dates for it.
