Need some help with ETA

Hello all,

I ordered my first Kia August,

ordered EX P AWD nightfall with wolf gray

Ordered from the dealer in Colorado, I'm in NorCal

Order date: 7/20
Kfos order: 8/11

When will my order be picked up by Kia? When will I be able to get a vin to track on Failcat?

Dealer estimates around Christmas for my order, which is kinda bummer. Any information on others in same loop?

If you have a KFOS date, it was picked up by KIA. At that point you should have gotten an ETA. Should show up in failcat about a month before your ETA. Everyone who orders is in the same boat.

Agreed with the above reply. I received an ETA right after August KFOS closed and NowCar has provided me updates once a week. Last week my updated ETA was moved out a week likely due to the plant shutdown last week. Please ask your dealer for an ETA. They will have one. Also, once a VIN shows up in Failcat, that means it has been built. Per another thread, Stephan Cantrelle can tell you if the VIN is assigned to you. All he asks is for some well deserved money!

Here are two threads on CA DMV for out of state purchase. Smog check still needed.

To register in CA, sales tax is either collected by out of state dealer, who forwards to CA, or pay at CA DMV. CA registration fees comes to a little over $600, usually not collected by dealer. Update: went back to DMV with stuff sent from I25. I gave them everything except the CO application for title/registration. Oh boy, the rep was confused. I spent close to 45 mins standing at the widow waiting for the rep going back and forth working with his supervisors. They didn’t bother...

I did, but still no update from the dealer so getting worried, thanks for reply

My dealer updates me every couple weeks but to be honest they aren’t needed. Why? Because the real updates are dealer takes your order, Kia accepts your order (Kfos), ETA, VIN/failcat and dealer delivery. It’s just a waiting game between between ETA and VIN. Hang tight I’m in the same boat. Any update you’d get now won’t have any “new” information other than maybe your ETA being pushed.

I would imagine Stephan would appreciate any amount. He is a sales consultant workin at Classic Kia in Texas and is a regular poster on the forum.
