• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I just noticed that our 22 SXL (Canadian model) has aluminum sill plates on the drivers side front and back, but plain black plastic sills on the front and back passenger side. Is that normal? Seems like a factory mistake.

Should they be aluminum all around, or plastic all around? My guess is the lower trims get the black sills and the top trims are supposed to get aluminum.

These are not the lit aftermarket Telluride sills, just plain aluminum strips - see photos.

Uhh ohh someone made a boo boo. I don't think it's supposed to be like that. Either all black or all aluminum not half and half.

I can't speak for Canada, but in the US the door sills are upgraded to stainless on all 4 doors.

Here's a snippet from the Kia build site:

  • 7 Passenger Seating w/ 2nd Row Captain Chairs
  • 50/50 Split-Folding 2nd-Row Seats
  • Stainless-Steel Door Sill Scuff Trim
  • Stainless-Steel Pedals
  • Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)

Looking at the Canadian website it says all but EX trim come with "Deluxe door scuff plates". I assume that is the same as the US stainless steel scuff plate and that is what i have on the driver's side of the car.

Waiting to hear back from the dealer as I've asked them to get the stainless plates on the passenger side to match.

Little bit worried about what this says about Kia's QC program at the factory.

I wouldn't be too worries about QC. I am guessing they opened the door, saw it was correct and don't normally check that on all 4 doors. It is likely a very rare mistake.
