What was the order window for this month? My dealer said that my order was accepted on the 21st and the ETA was late September. Does this sound correct?

My order was accepted on 7/19. Got an ETA of 9/11 . Sales person told me they've been getting their shipments in about 2 weeks early and anticipates that it will come in before that.

Can someone answer a possible dumb question for me. If an order was picked up in kFOS in July does that mean that your order will be built or start to be built before the august KFOS opens?

Should be. Once they finalize new allotments, they start filling them. If there are leftover vehicles from July, they will be finished first.

No, there is no guarantee that you order will be built before August KFOS opens. Depending on your specific build, your ETA may be two or more months down the road from when your order is picked up by KIA. In those cases, the following month's KFOS opening and closing will happen before the factory starts building the order.

I am a bit lost on the KFOS system. We ordered a '22 EX with Nightfall and gray interior (nothing extra) on 10/30/21. We were told by the dealer to expect an order of confirmation with an ETA within 3 weeks & 45-60 days for delivery. I ordered from Keffer Kia in Mooresville, NC because they told us they were high volume so they typically get more inventory (turns out they really are not). To this day, I have NO updates except that our order is confirmed with no ETA as of today.

Does this mean our order was not picked up in KFOS for November?

That seems unlikely, @caton2611. I was just told by my dealer that the factory just picked up orders submitted in July/August... Not sure if your dealer has a wildly quick turnaround but I highly doubt a late-October order was picked up.

I wouldn't expect you to get an ETA for 2-3 months after you order. My VIN showed up just shy of 90 days. I took delivery about 2 weeks later but it can be 4-5 weeks from what I have seen on here.

They could be a high volume dealership with considerable allocations BUT how many people are/were ahead of your order? That factors in as well. In my case, I ordered from two dealerships that were high volume. With one, my order was picked up within 3 weeks of order being placed while the other was picked up just last week. I don't recall my number with this 2nd dealership but I was far down on the list. Ordered late Aug. Picked up in mid Sept and I received it from the dealership one week ahead of it's scheduled ETA of early Dec. Is your salesperson available? Are they open to receiving check ins be it text, emails or calls? My salesperson was really great. Called me to know status of when things happened. If I had questions, I never felt like I was a bother. Just a really al around great experience. I hope you get answers soon.

Your order is likely in the dealerships internal “KDealer” system, which will forward orders to KFOS when your turn comes up. It may be months before your order is entered into KFOS, since (depending on volume) your dealer may only be allocated a few to a couple dozen or so “slots” per month. Depends where you are in the list. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

My sales guy (he’s not a sales manager) text me 12/2 and said my order had been picked up, but he didn’t have an ETA yet. From what I’m reading, normally KFOS opens once a month, mid-month for a few days, then sends out ETAs a couple days after it closes. Am I right on this? Anyway, I was a little confused my the 12/2 “picked up” date, but I am sure not complaining

Nope it wasn't me. My VIN did pop on 11/17 though. Green Kia in Springfield, IL is where I bought mine.
