So our new Telly is coming in today and I’ve found out that it doesn’t have all the accessories that we wanted on it, (cross bars, rear bumper protector) and they added carpeted floor mats which we definitely don’t want. What’s the best way to handle this at the dealership when I get there. This is at Kings Auto which does MSRP pricing.

You didn't sign an invoice (and kept a copy) with all the things you ordered?

What is missing that you ordered?

Sorry, the rest of my message didn’t write out. Yes, I have the invoice and all records. The cross bars and rear bumper protector were not added and carpeted mats were added of which I really don’t want.

Tell them you don't want the carpet mats and credited for what you didn't get. Those items are easily put on, not worth the trouble in getting the car.

Definitely agree with PittPa. See if they will work with you on the items that are missing and have them remove the carpet mats. I’ve seen most here replace them with all weather floor mats. If that’s the case then it’s definitely the way I would go about it. If not, those carpet floor mats will just end up sitting in your garage collecting dust. Ask me how I know 😁 plus all weather floor mats can be had for the same price as the carpet ones.

Thanks for the advice. Was looking to see what others have done and if I could go that route.

A month ago I got a call saying ETA was 1/29, a couple weeks ago I checked the website, and was able to get the vin number and check window sticker...I ordered crossbars, rear bumper protector, "rubber" mats-dealer told me they had to mark carpeted mats..and none of that was on the window sitcker...So I went to the dealership, I NEED THE CROSSBARS ITS SKI SEASON, I was told they would have to ORDER them when the vehicle came on the lot, along with the other things missing...but why does the other one coming in have crossbars listed on the window sticker! More waiting...ugh. I wanna know when my car is going to be there!

I know when I ordered a month ago, they weren't accepting orders for crossbars. I assume that's a supply chain issue, so they may be out at the factory and are shipping without them.

Right!! I just want more communication on this. I only know it doesn’t have the items I want because I checked failcat. No communication from the dealer. I’m pretty relaxed and cool when you tell me things upfront and before hand, not so much after the fact or I find out myself. Just tell me and I’d be ok with it.

I hope that’s the case.

Your eta is pretty spot on. If it were a month or two early I'd say it's someone else's car you're receiving with different options or a dealer stock unit. But maybe it is just supply chain issues. Either way hopefully they can make adjustments for you.

They seem reasonable enough there for me if you're already getting it at msrp! GL

I checked failcat as well, that's how I got the vin and checked the window sticker...the wait has been long enough and now to wait more for things that were ordered 7 months ago...more communication would be nice on my end too...it better be right when it gets here, another 2 weeks probably!

I have the opposite issue with multiple things on the sticker we don’t need and didn’t ask for. We weren’t asked if there were any accessories we wanted when we put the deposit down. Hoping to negotiate something when our car comes in. We don’t need or want carpeted floor mats in Colorado.

You can get equivalent cross bars for about $165 on amazon...They are even made by the same company, and the lock covers are attached so they don't fall off like OEM KIA ones.

I picked up carpeted ones off Ebay for less than half of the retail price. Personally, I find the all weather mats (weathertech) a needed item in the winter with slush, salt, and snow. They are usually a mess all winter and I can't wait to get them out. They look clean after you wash them, but that last maybe a day. It's an official sign of spring when the carpeted mats go in and give the car a more refined, clean look.

Thanks for this...I am looking into it, may even have them but the time it gets here. I am tired of waiting at this point.

Those do look remarkably like the OE one for sure. So much so that some of the complaints were that the covers came off like the OE ones. I would like to see a close up of how those are made.

Wondering..... did you ask why those items are missing? They are dealer installed accessories. Could be that they are waiting for the parts? Did they order them for you? What's the story behind the story?

Enjoy the ride.

I wouldn't sweat it. From what I understand (as told to me my my seemingly very honest dealer), Kia is requiring carpeted mats, and if you don't order them it gets added anyway.

On the other accessories, it seems they just don't have them in the factory from time to time and leave them off.

I don't think there is anything the dealer has done wrong or nefariously here.

I did, they said those items were not available and this one fit everything I asked for except the carpet mats. Said they add them and there is nothing he can do as it MSRP already. I’m letting it go as there is nothing I can do unless I want to wait several more months. Good guy overall.

I agree. Did a great job talking with me even if a few things he said were just sales tactics. I understand and am not mad. Picking the car up tomorrow morning. Everything else is ready to go.
