Just got this reply from Omaha Kia dealership.

" The vehicle has a MSRP of 48150 and unfortunately we are not selling the vehicle at MSRP at this time due to the actual value of the vehicle in the market being higher. We had many customers purchase from us at MSRP and take vehicle to Carmax or Vroom and sell it to them for a profit. We are selling this vehicle at 63,150 if you have a trade we discount 3000k and if you finance we discount another 2000k.

What a bunch of baloney. After you sell someone a car, who cares what they do with it later. He is basically saying, "why should the individual profit from the potential sale of an item when we can eliminate that and keep it all to ourselves"

All the bad online price listings occurred at all of the CDJR Jeep Texas dealers in my area. Many listed Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited for up to $8K below sticker when in doubt they all wanted sticker when you showed up to the dealer in person. Didn't experience any Kia dealers doing bad business in Texas. If you are willing to be patient enough to wait 5-9 months in line for orders most Kia dealers are willing to be transparent enough with pricing

Now is DEFINITELY NOT the time to buy a new car. I admitted that I got screwed with a $7000 MU fee on a 49K car. It basically made my 5 year loan into a 6 year loan. If you were to total the car a month later......would your insurance pay you the VALUE of the vehicle ? I bet it would be an argument with them. I just put over 3000k on my Telluride by driving cross country in 4 days. Still have more driving to do. Bought the car in November and I now have slightly over 4000k miles. I'll probably put 10k miles on it this year alone. Thank God for adaptive cruise control. I do like the highways with 80MPH speed limits also.

Well, he is in business, I assume to make a profit. Not in business for his customers to make a dollar profit. But yes, it is a handy excuse for him.

Everyone, just stay away from Hyndai/Kia dealers and their cars. Pleny of other fish in the sea. GM and Ford are cracking down on dealers charging over MSRP per a recent WSJ article. They will cut back their supply of popular models. Per a previous post, it looks like Hyundai is punishing dealers selling at MSRP by not filling the orders.

GM is selling at up to 10K over MSRP. I was buying a new Tahoe when they made me run away. They, just like Kia would NOT order me a car to my specs either. Take what's on the lot, or no sale. I just happened to stumble on the Kia in the showroom. My brother traded in his 3 year old Denali Yukon for 50K and the dealer sold it a few days later for 58K. Sold my brother a new Denali at MSRP....only because we have bought a dozen new trucks from them over the years and knew we would not buy again if they added 10K MU.

GM is not selling $10k over MSRP. Neither GM nor Kia own the dealerships. Go to another dealership.

No kidding. You know what was meant. The manufacturers sure as hell are not doing ANYTHING , other than idle threats to prevent mark ups. They want their dealerships to be profitable, therefore making more business for them. In NY.....EVERY DEALER is marking up. I went to the dealer where I bought my Telluride to find out if it had hot spot capability. The salesman didn't have a clue and went on You Tube to try and help. Since October , the dealer was bought out and the new owners canned all but one salesman. I spoke with 3 people waiting to pick up new cars....every one of them paid at least 5k over MSRP.

Adding Stevenson Kia (Jacksonville, NC) to the bad dealer list (if they weren't already). They have 2 Tellurides on their lot with the exact build I have on order from another NC dealer (at MSRP). Contacted them and was told they add $7,995 markup to the MSRP. I said thanks, but no thanks. I'll keep waiting....
Yes! Avoid them like the plague. They were just bought out by capital and I was hoping that would be a good thing but that wasn’t the case. I live here in Jacksonville and for the GWP SXP they said “60” out the door as if they were doing me a favor 😂

Disappointed by Rochester NY dealerships. Would like to support local but not with these prices. One dealer in town quoted $5500 over msrp for EX and another said they would sell at MSRP but required a non-negotiable $3500 service pkg with no explanation whatsoever about what that consisted of. Pretty disgusted.

Parents are looking to sale their 2021 Telly to get a 2022 Telly cause they don't like the really light gray interior. Basically the guy came with a price of 43k saying it was the market price, I said oh that's the price yall are selling it at? He responded with you can't get them at MSRP right now and I told him yes you can so don't tell us that. Eventually after I stepped away for a minute the manager came over trying to use his sales pitch on my parents and then I came back. He tried to say the same thing and I told him they can get one at MSRP, he was like someone will buy it cause they are hard to get, I told him yeah I understand that but it won't be them...we then got up and left. Mom said when I came back it through him off his pitch cause he repeated the same thing he had just said before he saw me coming back I guess he thought I was gone.

Thanks to this site for all the info and the people on it for sure.

Stay away from Mentor Kia in Ohio. Was promised up and down 8-12 weeks for my Telly. That was October. It’s now almost March and still hasn’t been picked up in the system. I’ve called several times and they act annoyed that I’m even bothering to inquire about where I am in the process.

They’ll tell you anything to get the order.

Go to Halleen Kia in North Olmsted and have a much better experience at MSRP!

I’m curious because I ordered from Halleen North Olmsted 2 weeks ago. When did you place your order with Halleen and how long did they quote you? I was told 4-6 months. Also, did they tell you that you could only finance through Kia?

Stay away from Cherry Hill Kia, NJ. Charging 10k over MSRP with 20 allocations. Clearly price gouging even when there they have an abundance of them coming in.

Friend of mine just got their's through Halleen. He had nothing but positive things to say. Can't confirm on financing but they were on the shorter end of the timeframe they originally quoted him and didn't try to pull anything funny when it came to add-ons and honored MSRP.

I ended up at Ricart Kia in Columbus area. I gave them some loose criteria on what I was looking for and they called me immediately when something popped up on their incoming vehicles.

Had an order in at MSRP for over a month at Hallmark/Wilson Kia in MS now and just got a call from Bob that they are now wanting $2,500 over MSRP for my order.

Talk about bait and switch! Classic stuff right there.

I’d repy with your state Attorney General’s consumer division CC’ed and ask him to please honor his original advertised and agreed to price.

Who did you talk to at Ricart? I’d like to call them. (Sorry trying quite but I must not be doing it correctly. This msg is for Sparky)
