• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Got it. Will look into these two.

Which pH neutral soap do you use for your car?

Not sure if you’ve thought of it already. You’re so insightful. Have you thought of starting your own thread to refer newbies like me to? I’m sure you’re shared your information repeatedly.

I just happen to use Griot's Garage soap because I've used their products for many years. There are a number of vendors that have it, some examples are Car Pro, Adam's Polishes, Chemical Guys, and even Meguiars. I'd look at each of their web sites to ensure whichever soap you choose is pH neutral and you should be OK. You can get Griots and Meguiars at AutoZone so they are fairly easy to find without having to mail order stuff.

I like Meguiar’s.

I second this gold classic.
I’ve known Meguire’s since Tokyo drift came out. But Griots is new to me. Good to know that I have two solid options. Thanks guys.

Even though my vehicle does have a ceramic coating on it .
When I'm done washing it and drying it off I use this just to top it off for that extra nice shine ,I know it's overkill and not necessary not necessary but I like it.
I had emailed the company and they were adamant on saying their product does not affect any type of coatings for sealants in a negative way at all " completely safe "

So the Telluride I ordered last year is now “In Transit to Dealer” and I’m supposed to be getting it in the next couple weeks. I’ve allocated some money to take it in to get a ceramic coating right away and found a local place that sounds reputable. Their best ceramic coating is a 7-year one that is described as dual layer, and costs $1100. If I’m going to do it, I’d like to do it right. Does this sound like a fair price for the Chicagoland area? I traditionally keep my vehicles for up to 10 years.

What's the name of the product that they would be applying?

That's about what I paid here in Minneapolis at Midwest Clear Bra. They have the reputation as one of the best locally.

I've got to say I've been an avid user of the mcguire's gold classic car shampoo .
Yesterday I picked up from Wally world CG Honeydew car shampoo and I've got to say I am extremely impressed on how nice my vehicle looks.
My Telly has a ceramic coating and as you all know you need to use a PH neutral specific soap due to it
My vehicle was pretty dirty yesterday before I washed her .
When I got up had noticed we a light rain last night so when I went to look at the Telly BANG,POW,BOOM this GORGEOUS girl was in my driveway wanting photos taken of her and all my attention 🤫 .

My washing method is to rinse off with water first from the pressure washer then I sud her up with the foam cannon and rinse off the suds after they have broken down and the final wash is by hand wash and rinsed once more .
Oh and Armor All glass clearer and tire dressing spray 👍20220326_084459.jpg20220326_084626.jpg20220326_084600.jpg20220326_084513.jpg20220326_084447.jpg20220326_084427.jpg20220326_084545.jpg

I also just started using CR Diablo wheel cleaner.
Its the milder wheel clearner from them , not that there is ever alot of build up on the wheel but nice shine ever in this weather I am looking forward to the sunshine 😎 .

And my go to quick ceramic detailer spray is ...
And yes I know it's not necessary but it definitely definitely adds more is more in my mind plus safe on all sealants 😉20220218_074317.webp

Nice!!. I mostly use tlc2 and Amp from the Last Coat. Easy to wipe on and wipe off. I really like their products, but are on the pricey side.

For the black matte plastic, I use Chemical Guys TSR. It puts a nice shine, and is also very easy to apply.

Just picked up my car after the ceramic (including paint correction). Looks fantastic. Windows as well as body. I have a five-year warranty with annual inspection and touch ups. They also polished out some ugly scratches I had in the driver side window posts, which I have no idea how I acquired.

Some pics here - though pics don't really do it justice. It shines like a diamond! Excuse the shitty winter rims (I should probably get something nicer, as winter is long here!).
