• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Vehicle Controller Error in Settings?

The frustrating thing is we had a 2020 Telluride, and the ambient lights didn't dim out of park. Every time I drive our 22 at night I miss our 2020 Telluride ha

No jean staining on my 2020 SXP Grey Nappa seats after 2 years. And I wear blue jeans a lot. I have used leather cleaner/conditioner twice on the seats. I did not do the leather XPEL coating some dealers offer.

You are in luck, I recently recorded these clips for reference. Grey seats look awesome with interior lights. Was trying to capture the ambient lights dimming when shifting from Park to Drive gear. Footwell and cup lights stay the same brightness.

With interior light package (footwell + cupholder)

Ambient lights only

Maybe our 2020 was a unicorn, or more likely; I am misremembering. Either way, our old one appeared brighter. I'll see if I can find any pictures.

I saw someone on Reddit claiming to know of a shop in Vegas that could manipulate the code to make the lights think the car was in park even when it isn't. I'm sure that would affect the warranty, but is that something you've heard about?

Sounds plausible. Never heard about that on this forum. Nor have I heard of anybody trying to manipulate the data files for the head unit. There have been few who tried to access engineering mode, but have not been able to do much while in there.

Unlikely messing with head unit software will void anything. Messing with the ECU would.

Pleased to say that my 22’ AWD SX/P/NF/T in Gravity Grey/Black Napa Telluride successfully received the latest infotainment firmware/software update. It has only been a few hours since it was completed and suspect I will need to drive it a bit to see how much has changed and if the Ambient Lighting brightness setting is any better for night driving, likely tonight. Photos attached of some of the slight changes that I had noticed right away. I prefer the updated main page versus the old, little cleaner and doesn’t display the user name.

As far as experience goes, the Service Department of my local Kia dealer has been way better than the Sales Department. The gentlemen that I worked with was great, honest and upfront in not knowing how to perform the update, reached out to approriate internal Kia contacts, got the information, even when it took longer due to staffing he updated me as to why, and most importantly followed through with the update rather than dropping the ball or steering me away because they initially did not know about an update nor how to do it.

Hope this helps others in updating. I know that I could have done it myself when I found the update on Kia’s site but again, new car tech under warranty so might as well let the Service Technicians do it.
