Ordered in July, original ETA was over two weeks ago…..Which is an outrageous delay but I’ve managed. My dealer now says my delivery has been delayed and gave me a new delivery date of last Saturday. Now daily I email and simple answers of “we haven’t received delivery” are returned to me. Of course I sold my car in time for for upfront cash payment so now I have no mode of transportation to/from work.

Has anyone else had similar delays after dealer gives you original delivery date? I waited until dealer confirmed delivery date 3 days out to sell and now pissed I’m stuck car-less. I’m trying to remain patient but after selling my precious car is proving hard .

Rent a car in the mean time. We had 7 or 8 eta's and in our case the vehicle was delivered days before the final eta the salesman gave us. 1st world problems. GL you'll have it soon enough 👍

Mine was almost 3 weeks late in January. Neither KIA or my dealer knew where it was, just that it was "on a truck for delivery". I did finally get it though. Good Luck!

Ugh this makes me sick to think about. I was too worried about having the down payment so I rushed to sell my car in time. Now I guess I sit and wait.

For what it is worth the wait is brutal especially after the 1st or 2nd change. Today was supposed to be my 4th ETA and no call to say it arrived as of this morning. So, I'm just guessing the ETA moves out a week and I am on my 5th. I'm in Pennsylvania for what it is worth.

It starts to make you worry sometimes for sure, but nothing you can do but come here to be consoled and look at others in the same situation. First world problem for sure. :)

I am waiting for mine to come in at Fred Beans of Mechanicsburg. Found one on allocation they were getting that hadn't been claimed in January.
I am based in the Lancaster area. Was totally set on Telluride for our next car and would have waited...However, Wife is having our third kid in March and lots of road trips this year and being a family of three I just took the mark up of around 4500 instead of buying a car I wasn't happy with.

They [dealer] throw in some stuff that I don't care about for that price to make you seem like you are getting something....whatever. I called so many including sussman, but they wanted me to come in to talk and wouldn't do much over the phone for me at the time so I didn't chase them further.

At least you don't have to wait the 7-8 months that I'm currently dealing with. Did you reach out to this forum to get the anticipated delivery date from StephenCantrelle? Funny that he gave me delivery date of tomorrow, my dealer said last week. My dealer just pinged me and said the new date is tomorrow... Hoping my dealer didn't sandbag the original delivery estimate.

Oh yeah, I would have gone that route if time allowed, but in the grand scheme we have ability to do this and I jumped on it. I cannot imagine after that long.....hang in there.

I have not asked Stephen yet because the dealer has been very receptive to my inquiries to date. Soon I will start asking him on the other thread since patience is getting thin. 😂

I have started to learn not to trust the ETA they give. They just read what the system says I think?

The entire ordering process has been a complete joke. Ordered one 8/10/21. was told it should be delivered between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then I was told end of February. In mid March was was finally given the delivery date of 3/31/22, which got pushed back to 4/3/22.
That day came and now delivery is expected 4/8/22 - and they provided a window sticker with my VIN.
Well, 4/8/22 turned into 4/15/22 - excuse was not enough truck drivers from move it to the dealer.
4/15/22 was once again pushed back, now they are saying 4/22/22 - bad weather?!?

Ordered a 2022 Gravity Grey SX Prestige w/tow package on July 21, 2021.

So far I have waited for 10 months and 19 days. Still nothing.

Original order: July 21,2021. Due end of Oct. 2021.
pushed back to Thanksgiving 2021.
Pushed back to Christmas 2021.
Pushed back to March 2022.
ETA?? He said hopefully by summer but he wouldn’t give me a date. They keep saying my order hasn’t been picked up.

Order in line as of March- about 5.
Since then there have been 6 SX vehicles and I have yet to hear anything.

Feeling I will be passed up because others are willing to pay more and the demand is huge.

What would make them want to stick with me and my price we agreed on when they could make so much more?

Quite frustrated and disappointed! I thought a handshake and putting money down, and agreeing to a price on a wait list meant something.

The distribution model is mostly broken. That means its results -- where the vehicles go, and when -- can be unpredictable, seemingly unfair, and at times apparently random. You have my sympathy for being abused by this system.

But now, there is only one remedy: buy something else! Forget your order; that's a sunk cost. Those 10+ months of fruitless waiting cannot be retrieved or validated now.

Look at it this way: Suppose that in July 2021, instead of custom-ordering a vehicle, you had told the dealer (ideally, multiple dealers at the same time), "Here are all the trim, color, and equipment combinations I'll accept. Please contact me as soon as you know that you have any vehicle coming in that fits these specs." And of course, you'd have kept searching for inventory on your own as well. With all those feelers out, how long do you think it might have taken before you were driving something satisfactory, even if not perfect? Maybe it wouldn't have been lightning-fast, but no way would it have taken anywhere close to 10.5 months.

If I were you, I would switch to that approach now. Just don't limit yourself to a single dealer or even a single model. Be flexible about what you'll drive. Add other comparable SUVs besides the Telluride, such as the Palisade (obviously), maybe the Nissan Pathfinder, etc. -- whatever is acceptable to you.

After close to a year of waiting for perfection, maybe it's time for satisficing. Good luck.

My Kia dealer told me yesterday that wait time for a new Telluride is now ONE YEAR! WOW!
