has anyone added a chip for improved performance? If yes what one did you install and are you happy with it
There are no performance chips available yet - at least not that I know of - but if you want a more responsive Telluride, this will do the trick:has anyone added a chip for improved performance? If yes what one did you install and are you happy with it
Following - Very interested, almost seems to good to be true!So i see its been awhile since someone inquired about a Performance chip. I actually don't have my Telluride yet. Just placed an order 2wks ago so should be here in 5months.
Anyone use this chip from PCT?

Bingo. Your wasting your money to get anything out of a normally aspirated engine with a chip. If you have a custom engine built and your trying to tailor the engine management system to wring out the power, ok. A flat stock engine, no so much. It's all about that boost. My brother tunes everything and says without turbo or a supercharger you can't add alot of power.
I was thinking of eventually adding a cold air intake and a borla exhaust so I was curious if the tuning chip would help tune the ECU after they are installed.Bingo. You will be spending$1500 or more for what? 10-20 HP? Optimistically but I would only use before and after Dyno. Again spending more moneyI was thinking of eventually adding a cold air intake and a borla exhaust so I was curious if the tuning chip would help tune the ECU after they are installed.

Got it. So I should swap out the stock engine for a turbocharged one.Agree with what’s been said, on a naturally aspirated engine you aren’t going to make much with bolt ons/chip unless you are willing to dig into the engine and mess with the compression, change out pistons/rods/cams etc. Then you’ll need a bigger throttle body, fuel pump, etc to feed it. Basically a new engine! And it will never end (in a fun way), you’ll always want to squeeze a bit more. It can be done and can be fun but you have to willing to literally pour money in because things will break as you test the limits. I built up a pretty rad NA Acura Integra back in the day but it took a crap ton to make it a couple seconds faster whereas others would throw on a turbo and get the same gain. Doh!
I have a turbocharged F150 and it’s sooo much easier…bigger turbos, bigger exhaust, tuner to up the boost and away you go with massive gains.
I wish I had the time and money to mod full time, it’s super interesting and is a great fun community.![]()
Or just add a turbo to the existing engine....S
