Order to delivery time

What all did everyone have to bring in when they ordered? Do I need to bring a pre approval letter or just whatever deposit they require??

I just gave my license and credit card. They took my card but said they were not even charging it. I never signed anything.

It’s been two months since we placed our order. No update from the salesman. I stalk Failcat weekly to see if anything pops up.

Am I supposed to look at the dealership I purchased from and sort according to my specifications? Then assume the one that matches the order I placed is mine? Tia.

Yes that is how you can do it. But you will likely get a call from your dealer saying your order was "picked up" by kia before it even shows on failcat. Usually your car will show on failcat about a month after your order gets picked out of your dealer queue from kfos.

I hope that is the case. But honestly, I don’t expect that level of helpfulness. When I asked if he knew what number I was in the queue or if he will know when my order gets picked up by kfos, he replied that “it’s not possible to find out with our system here.” Which is why I’m seeking help from this forum.

Nope. Don't assume. There have been many people on this site over the last couple of years that found one on failcat only to be disappointed that someone ordered the same one and was in the queue before them.

I was told $1K over when I ordered but it ended up being at MSRP when I arrived to pick up. I didn't complain. When we decided to order I called around the Indy area (we're on the west side) but everyone was marking up by at least $3K.

Awesome! I was originally given an estimate of 10-12 weeks back in October. :-(

Metro Kia Madison Wi. I had other dealers with orders but used Failcat to get a higher volume dealership in Wisconsin and found Metro. Got lucky and was next up for an SX when I called. All at MSRP.

Yea, unreal actually. I just looked over the paperwork and my order was actually submitted by the dealership on 2/4. Crazy fast and the stars were aligned. They got 12 Tellurides in around the first week in February that were all picked up in Nov/Dec so she told me to be patient and originally told me April/May time frame which I was also happy about.

Over on the “Track My Telluride” board, there’s a dealer guy (forget his name…assuming he’s a legend around here) who will give you an ETA for your vehicle if you post the VIN. And I understand that people are finding their VINs from failcat. My question: how do poeple know that the VIN they’re seeing on failcat is THEIR telluride to track? Like, my dealer sells 30 tellurides a month. There have to be multiple vehicles exactly like mine sold every month. How do I know that the vehicle that I see on failcat is MY vehicle?

You don’t know, only a guess. You will have to call your dealer to confirm if it’s yours.

I just found mine today on failcat. My dealer called me a few weeks ago with an April ETA. It was a more unique order so fairly sure it is mine. Not going with nightfall made it more unique for sure. You can also pull up the VIN to see if the extras match your order

I wish I wasn’t still waiting for mine to get picked up. I anticipated a wait. 4-6 months. . . But the fact that it hasn’t even been picked up, an ETA can’t even be established. I’m looking at another 3-4 months BEST case scenario.
You definitely got lucky with the stars aligning. It was meant to be! Enjoy your new ride!
