Love this Forum! And Just Totaled My Car….Oh Dear!

Ola Friends! Longtime lurker here and love the stories, hints, and support. I took a test drive awhile back and fell in love with the Telluride, of course. Was going to order one at the end of this year to replace my senior ride. And then….this weekend, my beloved 2013 RX450H saved me fr a minor crash in Houston but will now be totaled. No one was hurt except the cars. Sigh…So, tonight, in the early morning hours, I have finally joined the forum!

I’m in a rental car that I am paying for and getting desperate. Ya’ll have inspired me and this week I have called many of my nearby dealers in Texas and asked about any available cars. And, I have used failcat to locate dozens of White AWD SX’s (prestige preferred) in the queue. So many are coming out! Alas, all seem to be claimed. But, a kind dealer here and there have said they would call me if their deals fall through. Looking has been a part time job this week.

And of course, I’d ideally like to avoid a huge markup If possible. That was one reason I was planning or ordering later in the year and waiting. What else would yall suggest I do? Though the Telly is my dream car, I need a ride now, so I can return the $$$ rental I’m in. I can’t wait six months. And it is so hard to find ANY cars right now, that I am digging through VROOM and Carvana trying to find a used one that will do for now.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! But sorry to hear about the RX... The Telluride will be a nice upgrade, however. Please keep us posted on your journey to getting one. I'm glad to hear the RX took good care of you - especially during the collision...

Unfortunately the Telluride isn't a great choice if you need a car now and don't want to pay mark-ups. Hopefully you find something available soon but it's likely to have some mark-up if you need it quickly. It's not a bad idea to get a temporary car for 6-10 months and order a Telluride right away from one of the no-mark-up dealers near you.
