Your story is exactly mine. If it weren’t for this forum I would doubt my sanity and the fact that I’m getting rid of a car I wanted so badly. Saw you traded out quickly. I’m in the process of trading out after a few months of shop time and car rental. I only have 1000 miles on my Telluride. It’s a shame for us and the dealerships. My dealership mechanic has said that there was recently a TSB issued for vibration and AWD drive shaft issues. I hope that it helps others. The longer drive shafts responsible are poorly manufactured or designed, I think. So I'm new here. With a 2022 SXP Nightfall with AWB.
In addition to a front drivers side rattle at low speeds and what sounds like a grinding wheel bearing/hub sound fro the front, my Telluride also vibrates at highway speeds.
From 68ish and up I feel an extreme vibration in the steering wheel. I see the HUD shaking. The passenger seat shaking, the driver's side mirror shaking. The steering wheel isn't shaking left to right like with a balancing issue. It pulsates like mack massager or the active lane assist steering wheel alert. There are even times the lane assist alert goes off and I could it even tell it was vibrating because the steering wheel was already vibrating.
It's hard to explain, and the dealer thinks I'm crazy since I can't really explain it correctly. It doesn't feel like the tires are out of balance...it feels like the entire front of the car shakes.
The ride is not smooth by any means. It really feels like you're riding on a gravely road the entire time at highway speeds.
The dealer road force balanced the tires and replaced 3 of them with new tires. They did NOT RFB the 3 new tires. I don't know why.
Please tell me if I'm crazy here, but I think the vibration gets worse the warmer the car gets.
Additionally, they stated the the rattle coming from the front drivers side end of the car, that the shop foreman clearly heard, was the high pressure fuel pump. I was pissed. I know the ticking/knocking sound of the GDI fuel pump and this was not it.
We just made the drive from FL to SC for the holidays and my arms still feel like they are shaking. We'll drive back this weekend and I'll send it back to be dealer.
Please tell me there's a fix for this. please tell me that you all have found some type of resolution.
