• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I’m going to schedule a test drive but I just haven’t had a chance to. How would you guys describe the handling and braking? Feels smaller than it is? Nimble or heavy? It looks low but the height is 70” which seems like it rides high. Is it quiet inside? Does it feel luxurious or more sporty? Does it feel like a Honda or Toyota or more like a Audi or something else?

Sorry for so many questions. But soon I will get a chance to test it myself.

See if you like it. It depends on where you're coming from, past driving experience, and many numerous factors. Personally, I find it better than average but not a high performing vehicle.

Reviewers from 'Car and Driver', using a decibel meter, said it was quieter than some luxury vehicles they've tested.

I own a 10 year old BMW X5. This will replace it.

It‘s nimble, not a lot of body roll and handles just like the Pilot which is a good thing, and feels much more luxurious inside with a smoother ride.

Brakes are quite good considering it’s a tall seven seater.

Regarding quietness, I have an SX AWD Nighthawk with factory 20" Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires. I continue to be amazed at how quiet this car is going down the freeway. When compared to my Audi A8 and Tesla X, its superior to those by my ears.

For the size, utility, and price of the Telluride, I think the handling and performance is very good. If you compare it to much more expensive vehicles, you'll be unhappy with the performance. During your test drive, make sure to play around with the driving modes as well.

Just a question, when driving down the freeway do you find you get quite a bit of noise from cars passing by from the opposite direction in the area where the driver window meets the center piller? I seem to on mine just wondered if it was normal. I also seem to feel a bit of a draft when oncoming cars pass by me from the same area.

Please tell me there is a significant difference in FWD and AWD. They only had a FWD SX for me to test drive. It was ok, fishtailed a lot. Quiet but slow. Sport mode helped a little. I’m hoping the AWD will have a better experience.

FWD is just what it says, all the power is transferred to the front wheels and the back wheels are just along for the ride. AWD takes the power and disperses it between the front and rear wheels so they both provide forward motion. I can't remember but the dispersion of power but it is not a 50/50 split, I think more power is given to one side versus the other. The other advantage is that if one set is having traction problems, the other can compensate to keep you moving. As for speed, the Telluride has been reviewed as having low torgue at the bottom end of the transmission meaning it doesn't jump off the mark fast but if you step on the accelerator hard it will move. I use Smart mode which will react to whatever you do with the accelerator, if you floor it, sport mode kicks in automatically, if you want to just go with a normal or slow start the mode adapts to that as well.

Here's a great video that captures my thoughts your question about driving impression.

Has anyone driven the Telluride AWD vs FWD back to back?

I don't experience what you are describing on mine. My front door glass is the acoustic glass and the door gaskets fit tight. I may have just got lucky because this car amazes me for its price value.

Thanks mine has acoustic glass as well. I will get the dealership to check the window regulator to see if they can adjust it tightness of the glass to the insulation.

I've had an EX-P for only 1.5 months and haven't driven it all that much but am happy with the interior noise level during freeway driving. It handles well for regular driving, but I don't try hanging corners, etc. It has good stopping power, but the brakes seem a bit grabby. My wife has driven it only a couple times but made a comment about the brakes without me saying anything. I wish there was an engine option offering 75-100 more horsepower and associated increased torque. I wouldn't say the Telluride provides a 'driving experience,' but my overall impression to this point is that the Telluride does a very good overall job doing what it's intended to do. A niece of mine bought a 2020 Telluride a couple years ago and absolutely loves it.
