• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

Credit to Francis Roe from the Kia Telluride Owners group on Facebook for this image. Some interesting info…
Interesting. Still can’t tell from this info if that front bumper shown at the NYAS is exclusive to the X-line stuff or if that’s going to be the front bumper across all lines. I have a Telluride in order that will likely be a 2023 but if the front bumper is going to look like that I’m out. Guess I’ll consider the Palisade at that point.

I like the upgraded wireless charging capability. Is there any way to retrofit previous models to have 15w wireless charging?

There have been lots of vehicles over the years that used the amber turn signals as running lights. Outside of Kia, I can only think of the Raptor having amber running lights right now. Some of the new GMC stuff would look awesome with full time amber running lights. The Telluride looked so different, now it's going to blend in with everything else on the road.
Love that the lights blend in with everything else n the road. The amber lights say, “Hey cops, notice me!”

Has anyone seen when Kia might start creating the 23s?
Or Has anyone seen any videoes of the x line in person? I wonder what is taking awhile for them to release that one. I’d like to see more on the x line In case my 22 order gets switched.

Just thought it was odd, since When the new sequoia was released, there were tons of videos on the capstone and trd pro trims. I started heavily researching cars in last few months, so maybe this is normal.

I don't know the reasoning, but maybe they just don't want to drop their load in one shot. If they released all details now and didn't manufacture until late 2022, the excitement might chill a bit between now and then. If they slowly release info until they start manufacturing the MY2023, they can keep the Telluride name in people's mouth until then. 🤷‍♂️

I'm the same way. I placed an order for a 2022 EX Nightfall at the end of March and was told it would likely be a 2023. I love the interior upgrades and actually like the new headlights (still prefer old orange square DRLs but the new ones are nice too), but that new front bumper shown in NY is hideous and if it is on all 2023 models, that's a dealbreaker. Also, if the X-line doesn't entirely black out all the trim, I'm probably out as well.

Well unfortunately it seems like the X-line will include that horrible front bumper just based on the press photos released by Kia. What I’m interested in seeing is if Kia got rid of the Nightfall package because they are just going to blackout the trim on all the non-X-line models.

What are people doing with their soccer mom station wagon/suv that they're worried about the cops?

Operating a wrecker at a crash scene like the amber strobes and amber cautionary light bars on tow trucks notifying other motorists of a potential hazard? 😊

I don't get it... People are operating wreckers with their SUVs?

Those are vehicles that have amber led lights currently on the road. Amber/orange is typically used for a potentially hazardous situation or roadside work because it stands out.

I know I'm a week or so late to the party, but my reaction to the refresh:
  1. New dash is good. Personally I could go either way on the digital dash -- I don't mind the analog gauges at all -- but not having a digital gauge cluster was one of the (very) few negatives some people had against the Telluride (as if it really makes a big difference in real world use...I think it's mostly for show). I do, however, like that the main infotainment screen is now slid a little closer to the driver's side. In our '21, I sometimes feel like I have to reach just a bit too far to touch parts of it. And they were smart and kept the high quality physical buttons for common controls.
  2. Meh on the new front end. They removed some of the "chiseled" look around the headlights, which for me softens the look of them a bit, but worse than that is the silver "chin" on the bumper (at least on one of the trim levels) that's supposed to be more off-roady, I guess? It doesn't look bad, I just think it veered a bit away from "chiseled elegance" and a little toward "trying a bit too hard to be butch."
  3. Back end/new taillights look pretty good.
  4. Disappointed there's still no wireless CarPlay. Original wired CarPlay was cool...wireless CarPlay is a game changer. Adding a wireless adapter was the first thing I did with our '21...and it works. Most of the time.
  5. Surprised there's no hybrid. Supposedly the EV9 is dropping next year, so I guess Kia's going to skip the hybrid phase in the Telluride/full size crossover segment entirely.
  6. Kinda surprised they didn't switch to an electronic shifter. Not saying I want that — I love the size and feel of the shifter and it's perfect to rest your hand on (something I hated not having in our push-button Acura), but most vehicles in this segment have abandoned physical shift levers.
Jury is still out on whether they addressed my single biggest ergonomic complaint...the only buttons not lit up at night are the buttons to turn on the f*@#ing interior lights.

Now this is the HUD off the EV6 but what are the chances that the new upgraded HUD in the 2023 Telluride gets the same treatment? I know the update was it's a bigger HUD to 10 inch but could it also include this update 🤷‍♂️

Car sells before it hits the lots, it has months long waiting lists on orders. If Kia tripled their build capacity it would still sell out. Used ones are selling as much as the new ones. Please let the excitement die out.

And people complaining about the bumper, lack of wireless carplay, and the missing amber lights should cancel their orders so others can get theirs sooner.

That

That’s slightly distracting to say the least. Hope the forward collision works.

The Genesis SUVs have this too, and I think Mercedes and BMWs have similar displays. Don’t know if it’s gonna make the ‘23 Telluride, but it’s the next-gen for HUDs.

I would say the chances are zero, given that nothing in the Telluride release said anything about an augmented reality HUD, whereas it is specifically called out on the EV6 release.

It would be a great surprise, but don’t expect it, because it probably isn’t there.

After driving up to Washington, DC and back this weekend from NC, I loved seeing more and more Tellurides on the road. You can spot them a half mile away; both driving towards them and having them come up behind you in your rear view mirror. Especially the amber DRLs. I think losing this distinct feature of the Telluride in the 2023 model is a great loss for this SUV. Why take away a unique look? The new Telluride will look just like every other truck and SUV on the highway now. Thankful for the cool look of my amber headlights and my 2021!😜😜
