Order to delivery time

So now ...with what we are willing to spend... we should "settle"? I don't understand that. I ordered what I wanted... I would expect the same...not some mistake made at the factory... Maybe someone might settle for "4 fingered" gloves or a pair of shoes...each of different colors?? It is just me I guess.

It was just a suggestion in case he doesn't want to wait any longer. I know a lot of people like the black interior but there are other colors that look nice. My car has a cabernet interior and it looks beautiful. I think you're overreacting with your glove analogy.

Kia calls your dealer if something that came off the line unclaimed is either a close match or a direct match to what you ordered. If your dealers accepts a close match, that's what gets filled. Your dealer did this too you hoping you'll either buy it or they get to sell it to someone else.

I suspect you are correct. They hoped I would be so anxious to get the vehicle I would just take whatever I could get. I know they are dealing with a lot trying to fill all of the demand but given that we can’t order the prestige package, it’s taking months to get the vehicle, they should do what they can to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

Man, I just realized how lucky I was.... I literally walked into a Kia dealership 2 weeks ago to look in getting a Sportage for my wife (never even researched the Telluride, saw it a couple of times on the road and thought it looked really good for a Kia). A couple of hours later, I drove off the lot with her 2020 Sportage SX Turbo and my 2020 Telluride SX. The dealer had several SX's on the lot (around 16). From the base model, S, EX, SX (no SXP unfortunately, they said the factory is currently not taking orders for the SXP ). For the SX they had most color combo's. Mine is Ebony Black with Butterscotch (which I personally love), they had white, grey, burgandy exterior, with various interior's: black, grey, butterscotch

Vietvet: I would not pickup a car that is not what you ordered, no way. You paid for a certain color combo, that is what you signed for, that is what they should deliver.

Someone will take it for sure.... from what the dealer said the Tellurides sell like hot cakes. Customers drove from Jacksonville to Cape Coral to their dealership to pickup a Telluride.... I think it's one of the most "hot" selling vehicles this year. I would of loved a SX-P, I just would not wait that long. Mine has the rear self leveling suspension & tow package. Would of liked the nappa leather, alcantara headliner & the rear vented seats, but not worth waiting for, as they don't take orders for the SX-P nor did the dealership have one.

If Vietvet can live with the black seats, and can get some sort of compensation from the dealership it might be worth it. Me, personally, I usually except to receive what I order, especially on a 50k vehicle...

Just got an update. My Telluride was shipped on June 19th, expected to be delivered to the dealer by July 9th!!

Received the call yesterday!! My Telluride was delivered!! Gravity Gray/ Gray Interior SX-P with Tow Package, Roof Racks, and Locking Lug Nuts. Delivered without roof racks, but dealer will install when they come in. Will post pictures later today.
Ordered March 25th.
Order accepted May 22nd.
Shipped June 19th
Delivered July 5th.
A little over 13 weeks.
Dealer agreed to $500.00 Off MSRP, Received $1500.00 Finance Rebate. Got Carpeted Floor Mats for free. All I currently own are Hyundai Vehicles, so did not qualify for any other incentives... I you are looking for a Great Dealer in Mpls, MN area go to Cornerstone Kia in Elk River.

Amazing, I placed almost the exact same order on the same day, and my dealer cannot even confirm whether the order was accepted, only that it was "placed", whatever that means. I think this dealer is messing with me now...

It did look really nice, I bet the espresso looks really good though! I’ve never owned a new car and have always wanted an all black vehicle. If it’s going to take more than 8 weeks to get it fixed I might indeed end up with the butterscotch.

Ketchup on eggs?! The horror! thanks for the suggestion, especially since they’re so difficult to get our hands on it did cross my mind to just keep it but I (she) will keep waiting! I’ve always only owned used cars and have been glad to get whatever I could but for my first brand new car I’m going to try to get what I ordered. I’ll be driving it for quite a while.

Now if the dealer would contact us about a solution that would be nice.
