Satellite radio louder than fm

Turn up the volume on FM? The sound levels for different sources can be different. If the FM is still too faint despite cranking up the volume, there could be an issue. I rarely turn it past 3 or 4 when listening to FM HD signals. But, other sources need more volume.

Turning up the volume works. It's just annoying to constantly have to do this. I have another vehicle where volume between sources is the same.

Yes, it is annoying. Maybe it will be fixed in a software update? It's a known issue... I'd send a note to Kia Consumer Affairs.

Not unique. My Accord and Genesis are the same. Not all input sources are equal. I find CD to be the loudest. Does the KT even have a CD slot? That's so 15 years go.

The individual default volume levels for each input is in the sound setting menu..adjust them accordingly to your liking.

Amazingly what electronics can bring us to......in the "old" mechanical days, the volume knob was also the "on/off" control.....turn to the right and up went the volume, turn to the left the volume went down or all the way to off!

Short answer, no CD slot.

Yup...CD's have joined the "dead list" which includes cassettes, 8 tracks, etc. We all now "plug our phones in" and listen to whatever we are connected to!

Look in the sound settings for three options that allows sound to be passed through in the original format, then , blocking some "noise" then blocking the "most noise"

Have done that and changed those various noise reduction settings, but still have the vast sound level difference between terrestrial radio and satellite radio. Minor gripe, but still a gripe. They could fix that with a infotainment system update

If you go to Setup > Sound you do not see subsystem volumes?

Also keep in mind if you drive in an area with spotty HD radio signals, it will routinely switch back and forth between HD and SD radio. SD radio usually sounds lower volume compared to HD radio.

Subsystem Volumes is not listed in my Sound Settings as a subgroup. I have the standard system that comes with EX trim, not upgraded. Shouldn't matter, that should be a basic setting. Maybe that's changed in the new infotainment update, I haven't had time to install that yet. Thanks for posting that, though.

I have the April 2022 update. I checked my SXP today and realized I don’t have the System or Subsystem volumes settings either. Maybe they removed individual radio band volumes.
