Did you remember to plug each harness back into the car?I installed the unit and nothing happens. I checked and triple checked the wiring. I can’t even get proximity to work for the lift gate or doors. I even unplugged the unit and proximity no longer works when it did before.
Yes made sure everything was seated in nice and firmly. I also made sure the setting was on in the menu.Did you remember to plug each harness back into the car?
Yes this will affect the ability to lock the car. It will think you are still in it. My Telluride got broken into because my wife had my 2nd FOB in her purse which was left in the car. Someone was checking for unlocked doors and came across ours. Now you want to talk about a pain in the ass and how USELESS Kia dealerships are to help you out at a time when your car can be stolen at any moment out of your driveway. I was told it was 2 weeks before they could even get to it and it was going to cost about $800 to replace computer, door lock and FOBs. Luckily, after I got off that call someone called and they had ditched the keys and they were found with a prescription of my wife's so the doctors office called. Sorry for the long story but don't leave an extra set of keys in the car! Even without the auto locks because one press of the button and they can get in.Quick question about the proximity sensor module. What if we have one key fob left in the car on occasion (in wife's purse)? Will that affect the ability to have my fob lock/unlock the doors automatically? Any other unexpected behavior in this scenario?
I don't have an answer for you but mine has started not locking automatically at all when you walk away from it. If you lock it with the fob, it will always unlock. Not sure what is going on with it.Hi - so this has been working great for months. BUT - about a week ago I've noticed inconsistent behavior with both key Fobs. Just now, when I came back from dropping off the kids, the walk away did not work. And when my wife took the car to work, it didn't lock for her either. But i tested both fobs last night and they successfully worked on walk up unlock and walk away lock.
Any ideas why now, after a few months, I'm getting inconsistent behavior?
Perhaps it's a battery in the FOB issue? But that doesn't explain why both of them seem to be doing it - or intermittantly. Is yours totally not working?I don't have an answer for you but mine has started not locking automatically at all when you walk away from it. If you lock it with the fob, it will always unlock. Yes, it won't ever lock when walking away. But always unlocks on approach.Perhaps it's a battery in the FOB issue? But that doesn't explain why both of them seem to be doing it - or intermittantly. Is yours totally not working?
You might be in a weird hybrid mode if it's always happening. Did it Ever work?Yes, it won't ever lock when walking away. But always unlocks on approach.
There are two modes: Unlock & lock and unlock only. I have mine in unlock only mode because the lock function was annoying to me. You can switch between modes by hitting the liftgate button on the fob three times quickly. The mirrors should fold to acknowledge the change of modes. Try that and see if it works. I suggest after changing modes unlocking with the fob and then open the door, wait a few seconds, close the door and walk away and see if it locks.Yes, it won't ever lock when walking away. This worked. After I did it and everything started working again, the wife said "oh, that was me...I was trying to remote start the car". Three lock button presses for that, dear! There are two modes: Unlock & lock and unlock only. I have mine in unlock only mode because the lock function was annoying to me. It unlocks and locks (optionally) all doors. Don't worry, though, an attacker would not sneak in another door and give you a chance to shoot them. That only happens in movies. They would come right at you.Sorry, I didn't read the full 26 pages. But does the proximity sensor only unlock the driver's door or all doors? All could be a security issue since someone could get in on the passenger side - or second row of driver side that shouldn't be there. Please let me know how it works on your car.
Really hoping it is the driver's door only.
And does this arm the car?

The unlock is mandatory. The lock is optional. I turned that off because it would lock when I didn't want, like when doing a touchless car wash, walking around the vehicle.Thinking more about wife or daughter. If they were to try to get to safety, all doors would then be unlocked vs pressing the button once on the driver's door to unlock a single door. Why not just one door like the press of the door button?
Is the unlock optional?
I just found it annoying walking around spraying the car, and it's constantly locking and unlocking. A lot of people like the locking function though. What is wrong with locking at a car wash?
