• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 Telluride AWD rear end jerking thumping and vibrating

Picked up mine today EX AWD. Having the same humming vibration issue at high speed around 65-70. Suspecting AWD issue. Disappointed :(

Went to the dealer today. They said the tire pressure was very high and got it down to 35. But that did not help, still seeing vibration. Tech says its the road and highway noise, but I am not convinced. Planning to force them to do road force balance. As I am reading that will not help either, but have to take it step by step with them.

Step by step and keep good records. Please keep us all informed.

Yup, Pirelli tires on it. I also checked the tire pressure to confirm they're not overinflated, and they're sitting at 35

did you get to take them for a ride so you can make sure they are hearing and or feeling what you are?

NEWS.... The service dept has had my Telluride starting Monday. I just got a call from one of the service managers and he said they just got some Tellurides off the truck today and drove them and they have the same vibration problem! They have a call in to KIA engineering for answers. We are making progress!

But the real question is where is that truck and do they have my Telluride headed to Granbury Texas....

Good news on the vibration front.

That is AWESOME NEWS!!

Add me to the list for those with this exact problem. Purchased my SX-Prestige about 3 weeks ago. Thought I heard some weird rumblings at 69 mph right after I hit 1,000 miles. Well, I drove 750 miles today for the holiday, and I always get the audible vibration anywhere between 67-72 mph. 70 mph being the worst. It really sucks because my 60 minute work commute is on a highway with a 60 mph speed limit. I guess I’ll have to drive 65 mph and get passed all the time, or speed and risk a ticket driving 75 mph. The vibration and noise is definitely coming from the rear. And it seems much more pronounced now as I keep racking up the miles. Frustrating as hell, as it Is smooth at 75 and even 85 mph. I’ll call my local dealer Monday once I get back in town to schedule a time to bring it in. Given the highway miles I drive , this isn’t something I can live with. If they can’t fix it, I’ll probably have to sell the thing, get rid of it. It’s a damn shame , everything else is perfect. But yes , I agree, this is probably going to have to be a group effort getting this solved for those of us experiencing this.

Hopefully they will figure it out soon now that KIA engineers are supposed to be getting involved. This vehicle rides exceptionally well and we love all the options, if not for the vibration....
I’m feeling confident they will figure this out. We all need to keep each other updated on anything that gets done.

I’m guessing you have an AWD as well?

Yes. I left that tidbit out, as i believe, all Prestige models are AWD.
Got me. I never realized that.

Does anyone have access to a dyno? Sure would help to be able to walk around the vehicle while it was exhibiting the symptom and maybe use a stethoscope to isolate the source. And who knows, maybe it's even a windspeed-related event.

Would need to find someone with a 4 wheel dyno.

Today was my first time ever riding in the back of the Telluride, the vibration is much more notable in the back of the vehicle.

Well, 10 days ago (as I reported here) I got a call from one of the service managers and he said they just got some Tellurides off the truck and drove them and they have the same vibration problem! They told me their KIA service line had suggested they do that. They indicated that KIA engineering would be working on a fix.

Yesterday, I called to see what was happening. The service guy said that he would see the Factory Rep this Thursday (7/18) and he will call me by the end of that day. I hope there will be news of a fix. I have stopped driving the Telluride whenever my trip includes a highway. The vibration is very annoying and I am not sure what damage the vibration may be causing. None of us want this to be ignored by KIA. There are 9 of us just on this forum who have the exact same problem and there must be many others who have not found their way here. Push your service departments to talk to their factory reps. Does anyone have any productive ways to expedite this issue with KIA? KIA deserves a chance to fix the problem - I just want to know they really are working on it.

What exactly did your dealer do with your car besides balancing the wheels? I kinda feel like they should have went through the suspension and checked the toque on all the components to ensure factory specs or some other investigative work to see if there could determine anything before pushing it all on KIA.

I’d like to suggest that all (9) people with this issue list their specific trim, factory tow pkg installed or not, build date from their door jam sticker, and city/state.

Example:
Trim, SX/P AWD
Factory tow with self leveling rear
Build, June 2019
San Clemente, CA

If this problem persists/grows to others, we can easily create a google doc that can be updated in real-time to share with Kia for analytics and faster remedy.

1st visit - balance wheels (and then I took manager on test drive to see that problem remained)
2nd visit - no evidence that they did anything - stated "waiting on engineers for updates"
