If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2020 Telluride AWD rear end jerking thumping and vibrating

So... called before leaving work to see if they were able to find the issue. I was told the Tec took it for a drive and didn’t hear or feel anything wrong.
I went to the dealer and took the Tec for a ride, and exactly at 70mph you can hear and feel the vibration. He definitely was able to hear it. Also pointed out that below 65 and above 75, nothing. So they are putting me In a rental so they can try to figure out what’s causing it. I will keep you all updated as soon as I know anything. 🤞🏽
So has your service dept had your Telluride for a week now? Any news?

I imagine your service dept has tried a few things. Can you pass along their contact info so that my service dept may get in touch with them to compare notes? This may take a group effort rather than each KIA service dept trying to solve it from scratch.

So they had it for a week and nothing. They said Kia is checking to see if there are any others with this issue and also if there is one straight out of production that is doing the same. I agree it’s going to take a group effort.
I took it to ALM Kia of Atlanta and the
Case # is 13236461

Good to hear from you again - I wondered what was happening. I dropped mine off at the dealer yesterday. I will pass your information to them. I also looked to see if the Sorento had similar reports since their "guts" are similar to Telluride. I did come across a few examples of the exact problem. Also a few reports that rustproofing or undercoat had gotten on the driveshaft, causing it to be out of balance.

My dealer is Eastgate KIA (a Jeff Wyler dealer) at service number 513-817-0831. The Service manager is Charles Elliott (charles.elliott@jeffwyler.com).

AWD "S", I've got the same ultra deep resonant hum with pulsing/oscillating between about 68 and 72 mph. The resonance can be first noticed at about 65mph and as high as 80mph but only in the more narrow window (68-72) does it pulse and vibrate a bit. To be clear, the vibration is more of a general resonance and not something pulsing or shaking the steering wheel. It's more aural than physical. Harmonic resonance with some component(s) of the AWD system sounds like the right explanation to me.

Sounds exactly like the problem! You are the 9th person on this forum with the exact problem. It does not sound like we have any service shop that has solved the issue. One shop has contacted KIA. It is important that KIA is aware that this is not an isolated issue so that they will try to figure this out. The Telluride is a great vehicle and I bought it for some really great road trips - but the "vibration" will make that impossible.

Is the pulse, hum and resonance very much audible and very distracting to the extent of impacting driving ability for long periods ?

I can feel the issue too, just as you all describe, within the same speed range. I have an LX FWD, so no AWD system to deal with. I can feel it through the accelerator more so than the steering wheel. It's more of a seat of the pants feeling, though I can't appreciate any audible feedback like others have described. I thought it was high speed balancing, but after reading the posts, it seems we've ruled that out for the most part.

Sound very familiar.

Would it be possible to catch this on video so other members have a better idea what the issue is? I don’t notice anything at those speeds. What tires is everyone running? I have the Pirelli scorpions on 18” rims.

Any news on yours yet CincyTech?

I don’t know if the mic on my phone is sensitive enough to pic it up. But I will try.

Albert I have a question for you, if you had heard this noise when you did your test drive would you have still purchased. In other words are you pretty confident that it will be resolved.

Not yet. I dropped it off at 8am Monday. I did not hear anything but I did see where they drove it 10 miles. Today (Tuesday) I saw no change in mileage and heard nothing. I just sent an email and heard back that they had no progress and that someone will call me tomorrow.

For me it's one of those things which, now that I'm aware of it, will bother me in that narrow band of mph where it is loudest and pulses the most, i.e. between about 68 and 72mph. In Michigan it is pretty safe to cruise on Interstate highways up to 80mph without risk of getting a speeding ticket, so I wouldn't be in that most bothersome mph window a whole lot. If I did cruise in that range a lot, then yes it would bother me and I would be more upset about it. I'm antipicating that there is nothing to be done about it, otherwise I would want it fixed, yes. Could someone just put it out of their mind and not pay any attention to it? Not too easily once you're aware of it, imo.

I see that someone had a good idea that maybe it was a Michelin (AWD tire) versus Pirelli (FWD tire) issue, but ironraptor has FWD (presumably Pirelli tires) and he feels it too.

I believe there is a good chance I would’ve. Mostly because I was a mechanic for 15 years and it doesn’t seem to be something serious. If it wasn’t because it’s a new vehicle and I don’t want to do anything that would make them want to void my warranty I’m sure I could figure out what’s doing it.
I’ll just let KIA handle it.

My wife drives the Telluride daily to work and she loves it.

Yup, Pirelli tires on it. I also checked the tire pressure to confirm they're not overinflated, and they're sitting at 35 psi.
