• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just purchased '25 EX X Pro 2 weeks ago- not thrilled with the LED projector spread and looking to add factory fogs. I've found several hits on the '20-22 but not much for 2nd gens. Interested in hearing any feedback on install/conversations about what is involved.

I've sourced the parts I feel I need after comparing EX X Pro to SX Prestige X Pro- Fog lights, lower grille insert, Multi Function Switch. Harnesses are the same, BCM same. everything looks to be plug and play. What I'm waiting on is to find out if the Kia dealer will reprogram the BCM to activate the fogs. What I have researched on the Kia KDS 2.0 VCI3, it should allow them to activate the fog lights function and then reflash the BCM for that feature but haven't been able to confirm as I don't have any friends who are Kia techs.

Hoping to hear some feedback on others who have looked to go down this road. Thanks!

UPDATE: after researching and calling around to multiple dealers-about 6 different dealers before I actually found one that took time to discuss. They went as far as calling Kia directly to double check- unfortunately KDS software only allows them to access circuits and systems equipped within the BCM that are specific to the vehicle vin #. Since my ex x pro doesn’t have fogs there is no way to activate the system. Maybe this will change in a few more years once things become a little older and 3rd party software hits the market.

I bought an aftermarket kit last night and will be tapping into my low beam circuit and having the fogs activate with my low beams- I don’t need a switch- here in PA you can drive with fogs on just has to switch off when the high beams are activated to pass inspection.

Hopefully if anyone has other experiences or feedback with retrofitting factory fogs they will update this and tell me I was given wrong info or something has changed.
