• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Tell us about the "Highway Driving Assist (HDA)" feature

Yeah, it seems like responders are just parroting others and not actually driving these. Lot of wrong info in this thread. Same experience as you Rondakay. I set hda at 85 all the time traveling between W Va and ohio
I stand corrected in regards to had adjusting the speed to new speed limits. I was really responding to the statement that the system did not work well when not set to precise speed posted.

HDA has 2 functions.

1: Automatic Speed Settings: If you set cruise to actual speed limit it will automatically adjust the cruise speed setting as you enter sections of highway with different speed limits. Due to the fact that most people do not drive at the speed limit this function is essentially useless imo.

2: Automatic Stop and Go:. Unlike normal adaptive cruise if your on a highway and get in a traffic jam, the system will automatically stop and go and does not require user interaction to do so even after being stopped for 3+ seconds. This feature is great and makes sitting through stop and go highway traffic at least a bit more tolerable especially with lane centering and lane keep assist on I have been able to sit and relax while the car does all the work in multiple situations like this.

My husband and I tested an SX earlier today and used the "Highway Driving Assist". The car will help steer itself to stay within the lane as long as it is not a sharp curve. So for most interstate driving you can move your hands off the wheel for a period of time and let the car drive itself (to include accelerating, slowing, stopping and resuming speed). You cannot leave your hands off the wheel for extended periods as the car will remind you to place your hands back on the steering wheel. The car monitors your attention and even warns you that you may need a break with the symbol of a coffee cup. When cars were on either side of our vehicle on the interstate the "HDA" seemed even more vigilant in it's lane steering intervention. We have tested this same feature on Ford and Lincoln with less impressive results than we experienced on the Telluride. We tested "HDA" on an Audi and found that it worked similar to the Telluride. We were told that Kia and Audi use the same self driving technology purchased from Aurora in Silicon Valley. We were told that changing the driving mode will adjust the safety features to accommodate more or less aggressive driving styles, although we did not have enough time to confirm this. All in all the Telluride SX is AWESOME, it exceeded our high expectations. Look out Audi, BMW and Mercedes, Kia is making a bold move with the Telluride.

I believe Hyundai/Kia produce their own Driver assistance packages and Audi uses Bosch Mobility Systems for theirs. From my experience Audi Lane keeping assist does not work well at all and I am considering a Palisade purchase.
