In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

All the promo pics have had this misleading aspect from the beginning. Frustrating to see how the real vehicles look so different. Sorry, that difference is not just "lighting".
At this point, it feels like they know that people are mad about the removal of Nightfall as an option and they are trying to trick us.

What was the cost of the PIO hitch and harness option on the 2022? $575 on the 2023 seems quite a bit higher than I remember.

It was $475.

Yes, with Kia's price increase, the gap is now closer and people may start cross-shopping. Still think you'd have to compare a fully loaded Telluride with an MDX Advance and that the Telluride provides good value, though it is moving away from being the bargain that it used to be. It's direct competitors are still Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot etc. so all the non-luxury products. Since Kia itself does not have a luxury brand, the competitors of the MDX, Lexus etc. would be the Genesis GV80.

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is the better value to Kia Telluride (SXP, X-Line & X-Pro), the Kia Telluride SX is a better value than Hyundai Palisade Urban, these are basically the same cars, so it depends on which trim level your are cross-shopping. The 2023 Toyota Highlander is a bit smaller even if it is a good $2,000 - 3,000 cheaper, so for someone who does not need all the space in the Telluride, the Highlander is better value. The Explorer is quite frankly over-priced at the upper trims. The all-new Honda Pilot would compete well with the Telluride and Palisade but I think its going to be over priced by Honda, (currently Touring is priced same as the Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy and the Black trim is already priced close to the Telluride SXL), I expect the Black edition to be priced more than the Telluride (SXL) and the Touring more than the Palisade. The all-new Mazda CX-90 is likely to be still smaller than the Telluride/Palisade but Mazda is taking it upmarket so it remains to be seen how it would be priced (I think it would be priced below the Palisade, the price gap between the 2022 Mazda CX-9 and 2023 Hyundai Palisade is already $7,700 including taxes).

75k CAN is about 54,5k US and that includes taxes. Where can I get the top trim comparable Acura/Genesis/Lexus for that? I’ll gladly take one

The 2023 Kia Telluride X-Pro tops out at about CAN $74.4K versus CAN $82.4K for Acura MDX Platinum (prices iincludes Ontario HST), so I think the price differential is $8K, represents the price you pay for luxury brand status.

Now that the builder is up... anyone know what difference there is between the X-Line and X-Pro that make the X-Pro able to tow 5,500lbs (vs X-Line 5,000lbs)?

Have we had any more confirmed reports of Kia adding items to orders? I remember hearing a few had that issue already, and I'm trying to find out if I need to tell my sales rep to add on the mat cover so we have 2 extras. Really would hate to have Kia add on extra's that we don't want or need.

Floor mats were added to my order.. however, at the time my order was placed, they weren’t able to add accessories yet i think. It was the only accessory added.

Just confirmed with my dealer that carpeted floor mats are the only option that he can add today... going to go ahead with order, since the other options I want are mostly bolt-on when available...

Just picked up our 2023 SXP X-Pro in Gravity Gray yesterday from Moritz Kia of Alliance. Excellent experience! A couple things to note:
  • The front and back bumpers are much lighter gray than any other detail on any color as far as I could tell (except trim around the grill which appears to be the same color). Despite tricks of the light in some photos, it really is a light gray bumper. Even on the X-Line and X-Pro, it is significantly lighter than the side detailing. The side detailing on the X-Pro and X-Line is a very dark gray, not black.
  • Hitch is not available to dealers yet. Our salesperson went through the available accessories and they don't have access in their system to order or install any hitches on the 2023s yet.
  • Some other accessories are not yet available. We wanted a cargo cover, but again, it's not yet available in the system to order.
  • 2023s do not have passenger view. We have the top-of-the-line and despite the manual talking about it, the 2023 does not have it, only Passenger Talk. It doesn't appear that the rear cameras are installed for a later update or anything either. Really disappointing. I don't know if they are planning it for a mid-year refresh or what, but it sounds like any 2023s produced right now will not be able to be upgraded if it does become available later. Fingers crossed that they can just replace the entire rear climate control panel to include the cameras at some point. I would 100% pay to add this on (parents get it).
  • The setup process for multiple drivers with digital keys is not intuitive. Here's how we got it to work:
    • Create a primary Kia Owners account and setup your car
    • Download the Kia Access app (formerly Kia Connect) on your smart phone and log into the primary account
    • In the vehicle, active Kia Connect
    • From the vehicle screen, add a digital key (do this in a place with strong Wifi or cellular signal)
      • Make sure your smart phone is backside down on the wireless charging pad
    • Create a second Kia Owners account for the second driver
      • Don't go through the steps of setting up the vehicle yet
    • From the Kia Access app logged into the primary account:
      • Tap on the "More" button in the bottom nav with the 3 dots
      • Tap "Manage All Vehicles"
      • Select "Additional Drivers"
      • Select "Add Driver"
      • Enter the email address associated with the second driver's Kia Owners account
      • Have the second driver accept the invitation (I believe via email, but I can't remember exactly. It honestly could be in 1 or more of the following places: email, Kia Owners portal, or the Kia Access app 🙃)
    • From the vehicle screen, go to the Home screen then tap the profile icon in the top left (this looks like a tiny image of a road initially so it took me a minute to recognize it as a profile icon)
      • Select or add a second driver
      • Go to Vehicle -> Digital Key and go through the steps to register a new smartphone key
  • A note on financing: we went in thinking we would lease, but got pre-approved by a local credit union just in case. The cost to lease for us (extremely excellent credit ratings) was basically the same as the cost to buy, even with our incredibly good pre-approval rate of 3.85% for 60 months. We ended up buying because of how well Tellurides have held their value so far. Even if we want to sell in a couple years and get a newer model or maybe the EV9, it will likely cost less to buy than it would have to lease.
Anything else I can answer I'm very happy to!
I saw that some models come with the "credit card" looking thing like Tesla, did you guys get one?

On a side note - saw a gravity gray and a blue in person today... the gravity gray is 'almost' black, and the blue has zero metallic-type sheen happening in it... looks just like a blue version of wolf gray, kinda 'flat', etc.
It seems that the colors, both inside and out, could have had a little more variation to them, instead of being so incredibly similar. Like the black and gray exteriors being almost the same... neither the terracotta or mahogany have any of the nice Dune Brown hues in them... the gray interior might as well be called white, etc. They're a car company, and can do what they want, just seemed to lack some imagination to me...

The price of a Canadian SX X-PRO including 1% interest reduction with Loyalty program on a 5 years max loan to avoid negative equity back in the pre-covid days !

Well, we are currently in Acura MDX/Genesis/Lexus territories pricing wise for a product in my view less appealing visually than its former iterations, the 2021 SXL NightSky being the nicest in my book !

Actually, total cost including cost of borrowing is $86,520, over $11,000 for COB.

I guess it’s possible that the Calligraphy is a better value. POSSIBLE. But the Telluride looks a whole lot better in my opinion of course. I don’t think the Palisade in any trim level beats the Telly. Of course I’m biased.

I just talked to the dealer today and we wanted a rear entertainment system, but the dealer said that it was really crappy. Has anyone experienced this problem?

You don’t need the dealer to tell you that. That’s what everyone says about it. Save your $1500 and buy some iPads or the tablets of your choice. Money better spent, and more versatile (not tied to the car).

For what it's worth.....just today the Hendrick dealership in Cary let me know that I am currently #65 in line.
@ddrotts

Update! Hendrick called me today and gave me first dibs at two EX X-Lines that they have arriving in a couple of weeks (since I am the longest waiting EX order on their books). Neither one of them matched the ext/int colors I had ordered and I'd have to pay for the $2.3kish dealer add-in. There was one black/black and one dark moss/black.

I asked where I am at in line now - they said I have moved up to #58 and they'd estimate my original order to be arriving sometime around the one year mark (from when I first ordered on 12/31/21).

I passed on the two EX X-Lines they had coming in. I suppose I can wait a little bit longer to get what I actually ordered without having to pay the dealer add-ons.

really annoyed with how every single model seems to have the silver front/rear fascia and trim instead of the darker ones shown in every marketing photo
I wonder if there's a supply issue with the dark fascias? According to Kia's website the X-Line and X-Pro seem like they're definitely supposed to have darker front and rear facias, not only from the pictures but the exterior specs say it too.

I'm going to be pissed if my Wolf Gray comes in with that silver crap.

That was my initial thought, supply issue. This wouldn't be the first time Kia completely botching things like this and won't say a got damn word about it or address it head on and pretends like it's all normal.
